*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Why do I keep refreshing this forum thread knowing full well if there is an update I'm still probably 7 batches away from my card being delivered. :D MSI Ventus Position 218 for reference. "Am I really that bored?!"

A few weeks ago someone hypothesised that the initial batch of "by sea" cards would have been shipped at the beginning of September. If that's the case, and they take approx 35 days to arrive then they should surely be hitting the docks pretty soon?
It might be a theory but the chances are it's complete wishful thinking!
With worldwide card volume at around 10 - 20 000 on September 17th, any cards made prior to launch were almost certainly air freighted into markets, and there would have been zero stock available to sea freight On top of that there was the PSCAPS issue and board reworking then there was Golden Week, and as I see it we are no further down the track than we were three weeks ago on launch day.

I think current production is being air freighted into Europe or the US, and there's the possibility it might come on the train from China which takes 16 days instead of by sea. but I just can't see enough stock being produced to even fill a container at present. Air takes 8 - 10 days at present so using the train for volume seems a viable alternative. It might be worth looking to the USA which orders more than we do, I'd expect them to receive stock from China before we do, and again there's no sign of that.

Here’s something for anyone willing to give me some advice while we wait out the GPU fairy delivering us our shiny new toys. I have a lian li o11 dynamic, wondering whether I should get a vertical mount from cable mod or just get a simple support bracket for my new strix 3080 when it eventually arrives in the year 2637

My dynamic XL came with a simple support bracket so I would check the parts box.

Has anyone seen anyone mention the 3080 Eagles? im nr 8 in line im sure thtats since the release date as i havent seen any 1 get them or im just not looking in the right places

I know people have asked this, but, i want to keep this card for the next 2 -3 years. Will the VRAM be an issue at just 10gb?
Really hard to tell right now, I honestly doubt it will be an issue in the way people are making out but you never know. I game happily at 1440p 144hz so I'm personally not worried about the 10gb as by the time I change to 4k 144hz it'll be time for a new card anyway.

Really pleased the emails went out with queue positions on but why aren't OC releasing any info about stock updates? I've seen the one from Gibbo but other sites have released stock pathways showing the ETA of when stock is due in.

Is this because OC are bottom of the list for stock?

I’m no.7! I think they may have delivered a handful just after launch. Apart from that no information whatsoever from OCUK. We have unofficial information from another supplier that there will be a U.K. delivery tomorrow.

I know exactly what you mean! It's always the way when you order something shiny online - you want it now!

... and those others are revising their ETA as they fail to arrive...

If Gibbo doesn't post an update it is because there is no update at the moment.

We are still in the period where small and very small shipments are the norm, going to be at least another couple of weeks before they get much better than that and mostly we will need to be in November for the better news.
