Payment question

When I pre-ordered from OC, I went through the normal checkout procedure. However, I was expecting the credit card validation to request a code sent to my phone, which it didn't. While this is normal for small amounts or places I regularly shop, for items like this it normally requests validation. When I looked at the order in my OC account it said 'not paid'. The status has since changed to Order Received, but no money has been withdrawn.

I'm sure the T&Cs said the cost would be charged at pre-order. Has anyone had the money taken by OC for the pre-order? I did ask OC, but I just got where I was in the queue.

As far as from what i've read on these subforums the last few weeks is that OCUK does take payment at pre-order, which seems to be what has upset a lot of people when they're likely to be waiting several months for a card they've already paid for.

My Barclaycard always declines OCUK outright, but my Santander cards always go straight through with validation through the banking app

Not sure why people would be that upset if have any credit card, just pay on said credit card and section 75 of the consumer credit act to the rescue if anything goes wrong.

I don't think it was due to worries of payment protection. More about ocuk sitting on a pile of cash of which they're probably earning pennies on in interest. Basically people complaining about nothing.

Possibly, or he's worried that the item will get released and there has been a problem with the payment that he didn't realise he needed to sort out and then due the that has a delay in getting the item.

they are sitting on like 10k pre-orders i would hardly call 7.5 mill nothing
