Ok thanks, I’m out if the loop, and not heard of anything coming :). What’s thought to be in the pipeline?

ZEN 3 new cpu from Amd also big Navi gpu end of October.

Nvidia have just released ampere gpu 3080.

Intel have released tigerlake cpu but there for laptops, no sign of next gen desktop cpu.

for the sake of 3 days it's worth waiting on the Zen3 details, they may end up taking the gaming CPU crown from Intel.

however if your current pc is dead / you really need the upgrade now - then go ahead, the chip you've picked will do all the things you want at a cost you're willing to spend.

Thanks all, thankfully my current PC is still going strong, just want an upgrade to it, so I'll take your advice and wait :)

What other Intel chip would you recommend that's something similar in performance but maybe cheaper,

Thank you

What video editing software are you using ?

Currently it's between these two chips

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £760.47 (includes shipping: £10.50)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £640.49 (includes shipping: £10.50)

+£120 for Klevv Bolt X 32GB 3600hz

As others have mentioned, wait till 8th to hear news

Thanks orbitalwalsh, The software I'm using is Grassvally Edius, I've Edius 8 and bought Edius 9 getting Edius X free.

Its a software that not a lot of people have heard about but has be going for years.

I would need a motherboard with as many sata sockets as possible.
That's one reason I was going for the Asrock Z490 TaiChi.

Yes, I'll wait, thank you too for those links.

For the tacihi would suggest the Master, specially with better RMA support. 6 data Vs Taichi 8 but you'll have to see how the PCIe lanes are wired with the Taichi as using m.2 slots may take up some of the sata ports. Specially until 11th gen Intel are out

Taking a look at the software, seems the X version will support multicore better then previous gens which still about fast few cores. Also h.265 to allow Nvidia GPU exporting .

Seems intel 10850k without mid range Nvidia GPU or AMD Ryzen 3900/50x with mid range Nvidia is the way to go . Ryzen + and GPU by itself will be slow for export , intel based system could run QS and no need for Nvidia if penny saving.

Thank you again for all that info, I wasn't going to bother with m.2, in case it would steal some of the sata ports, I'm more than happy with an SSD for system, speedy enough for me.

I'll have a look at the Master board.

Thank you.

you'll be surprised the nvme m.2 pcie 3.0 can cost cheaper then SATA 3 SSDs.... £100 odd for 1TB NVMe

though to be honest, most go for the £200 Aorus Elite AC/Wifii for £200 as does what it needs to doo with 6 sata and 2 x m.2
