Need some help speccing up a water loop

@cms239 EK used to be fantastic from what I'm told but they're usually overpriced for what they offer and there seems to be quality control issues.

I myself had the plastic collar on my pump/res bracket snap, rather peel away like warm blue tack, after roughly 6 months of being in use. That could have been very nasty indeed. I only discovered the issue in time because I was doing a rebuild into a new case.
Yeh but was thinking more about their rads

Then I suppose from what I hear it's more about the efficiency of the rads, they're okay not great. I can't speak to the manufacturing of them as I've never owned one but I know if you absolutely want the best cooling performance out of a rad you need to look elsewhere. As I mentioned above, Black Ice rads get my vote everytime. They're very well built and as far as I'm aware still king for efficiency & performance, though others may know better.

Just in case you wondering I have finally got round to getting my username changed from CMS239 to Petrolhead, which is what I use on most forums :)

Just no pleasing some people ;)

I can't say I've ever noticed mine being particularly glossy to be fair...

I still have some of the older GT stealth 240 rads with the extremely high fin density rads but dont know if i'll ever use them.

So, 360mm then, but why not EK, out of interest
As Vidar said, they're very overpriced for very little gain in performance if any at times.

Not sue i get the over priced bit

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £177.88 (includes shipping: £9.90)

Cant comment on the pricing element but have a couple of the EK rads including that PE in 360mm your looking at and their slim ones in another builds. Going strong no issue. The PEs brought end of 2015 so no issues on longevity for me. Performance wise may not be the best but personally went for them as aesthetically look great for me.

There's not much in it really. Arguably a radiator is such a simple thing that they're interchangeable BUT it's about matching fans to rads.

Choose a rad you like.
Look at the specs - thickness and fins per inch. Read reviews and specifications to see which type of fans are recommended - high static pressure or high flow.
Then look at fan specs and see which ones you like that match your build.

Or
Pick the fans you like - fancy lights, thickness, diameter, whatever.
See which rads will work well with those fans
Buy that rad.

Thanks, good advice

I've just opted for EK's PE 360 rad for my first custom loop build. However I've read where people end up with nasties entering the loop if you don't flush out the rad before installation. I'm sure that goes for all rads to be sure.
