Wonder if it's worth contacting trading standards about those quotes to be honest. I know there are a few people that have ordered here specifically due to that statement. And still taking orders with no idea when they'll be able to fulfil the order is surely against trading practices?

Unfortunately for me, I got on the Pre-Order bandwagon way too late (late last week) and with no meaningful news regarding incoming stock for the 3080TUF (non OC), no email notification for position in queue (others who ordered in September appear to be still waiting so what can I hope for realistically) and very recent external news about supply being an issue until early 2021, I'm not going to wait around having just build a brand new system for the first time in years (with a temp old NV GT710 just to get a display).

Therefore I've requested a cancellation as I'm just not comfy with money actually charged with no clear idea of what's happening. If the card transaction was a placeholder to guarantee a place in the queue, that would have been ok but as it stands ... nah. Hopefully it gives someone that +1 bump. Good luck peeps !

I’ve raised this with the shop today. I made a bigger post in the 3090 thread earlier, but my point still stands... the rules are there, just because you’re aggravated it doesn’t give you the right to break them.

I don't blame you. The non-OC queue is about 2000 long currently. I'm literally position #3 and I'm still keeping an eye on other places because I'm not expecting to see the card this month from OC.
I contacted ASUS directly to ask about supply issues (as I'd heard the rumours that non-OC aren't even being made) and they said only OC can answer me about where my card is, which suggests they're being made and shipped out, just not to OC. which leads us back to the "we are in the best possible position to acquire it before every other UK retailer" outright lie.

We're all unhappy with the situation and lack of communication, but breaking the rules here isn't going to help anyone.

Keep it within the law of the mods, and keep it civil. Having this thread to share info is a LOT better than the alternative!
 
Just signed up to stockinformer discord and also nowinstock. Would much prefer to get my order from OCUK, more using the alerters for the chance of an FE card.
Has anyone had any success with these "informers"?

Yer that's the bit I find a bit odd, it's dictated to by the shop, you don't get paid for your time the whole forums in a little weird place where its a place for expression and discussion but the discussion isn't allowed to be open and free, not because of the free time kindly given by mods but because the shop.... The whole forum looks angry the second you open ***NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION*** it's not welcoming or a good way to grow a healthy community further.

It's like you can look but you cant touch kinda mentality and totally the shop not the mods, realise just my opinion and there will be others, however if i'm thinking it I bet you others are.

I don't think Trading Standards apply, but certainly there's an argument for flagging OcUK to the Advertising Standards Authority over their web page since it has a number of claims that they would have to be able to prove or verify.

Nope, fortunately I ordered elsewhere. But I was told I wasn't allowed to know my queue position, and the stock wasn't even due. I just randomly had a despatch email and was sent out on Monday and arrived yesterday! I was totally in the dark.

All I know is I got my order through at 14.11 on the 17th!

This is my therapy - and the only place any information seems to flow - so let's try not to have this one shut down too.
