*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Would it be dumb to order an ex display 2080 ti for £890 while I wait? 744 in queue - probably won't see my 3080 this side of Christmas

If you're willing to pay £900 (very over priced) for less performance than a 3080.. you may as well add a little more money and pay the scalper price on ebay... so yeah, buying the 2080 would be dumb. As much as I dislike the scalping, if you absolutely 100% can't wait - that's the smarter option.

I bought an MSI 1440p 144Hz Monitor in prep for the 3080 - My GTX 1070 Strix has served me well, but downscaling some games to 1080p is a pain, she's showing her age :(

Also need to get the most out of my 9900k (if you're wondering why I have a 9900K with a 1070 - I destroyed my 7700K trying to de-lid it because of insanely high temps).

Better off trying for a 3070 at launch where Nvidia at least claim they will have built up some stock, and it's only £400 and performs better than the 2080Ti as well! You could probably sell it afterwards and lose very little.

Nah, the 1000 IQ option is to buy something new somewhere that has very generous returns period up until end of Jan as it's approaching xmas gifts purchasing time of the year and return it when you don't need it any more.

Asus TUF could you please manufacture 10000 cards in two weeks time and send all.of them to OC UK, OK amount wont cut it anymore. People are getting impatient, people are cancelling their pre orders ! Stop them while you can.

with us that never did receive a queue nr (i ordered at 5th) and people that ordered at 6th they received a queue nr or even an update to their queue as well with oc numbers being down or not answering and the online support nearly absent how can i confirm that i am even in the queue?

The biggest question still is at this rate many many maaaaaaaaaaany of us will be way beyond Game redemption period. So we getting compensated for the false notifications of it being honoured on ordering? What about paying next day, that clearly never happened, not to mention will we even be automatically added to next game redemption window? Or are we being slapped, hooked drowned and forgotten?

I'm afraid that OCUK's T&Cs of sale explicitly state that you do NOT have a contract with OCUK until the item is ready to be shipped and nvidia's T&Cs state that the promotional offer is valid "while supplies last". I suspect OCUK is pleading with nvidia to enable them to honour all promotional offers they made within the first few hours of trading 3080 cards. It is within nvidia's power to do this. I'm curious to see how nvidia will respond.
