guys what would you do..

My PC is dieing (old 6700K)

get a 3900X for 400 quid of try and hold out a month maybe more for the 5900x for maybe 130-140 more?

When you convert from $ to £ you have to add VAT and that brings you very close to $:£ parity.

The UK price will be £300 for the 5600X. If there is any shortage of stock it could be more than that.

Also all X series SKUs came with either the Wraith Spire or Wraith Prism. So the Ryzen 5 3600X had the Wraith Prism RGB,and the 65W TDP Ryzen 7 3700X had the RGB Wraith Prism.

The $300 65W TDP Ryzen 5 5600X comes with the el-cheapo Wraith Stealth with no RGB. This is the same cooler which came with the $200 Ryzen 5 3600. Its the same cooler which comes with a sub £100 Ryzen 3 3200G.

I was looking at buying a new PC so was holding out to see this event. CPU's look good but fairly pricey.

Is the entry level $299 worth waiting for? I'll be looking to spend 1k on my new rig but i'm bang-per-buck builder or should i just carry on and see what i can get now?

Might as well wait cause even of you go for older series should see discounts on them further.

I’ll be sitting on my 3900X for a while yet I think.

These are fantastic clearly, but my money is much better put towards getting the best GPU upgrade I can afford this winter.

Will however be very tempted to pop in a cheeky little 5950X later next year after hopefully there have been some price drops... max out the platform and then sit tight for a couple of years while DDR5/PCie5.0 matures.

You're also a few posts away from getting access to the Member's Market so may be some good picks there
