*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Honestly I think people are annoyed less at the fact there are so few cards out there, but that places like OC have taken orders for cards they don't have and aren't communicating well with their customers at all. I would not care so much at all if they said on launch day 'we sold all our stock and aren't taking any more orders' like many other places, but they took orders for thousands of cards.

Also, I don't like the way 'pre-order' has been used wrt the 3080. With the PS5 once places sold out of pre-oders that was it, they didn't take orders for 1,000 more saying 'we'll let you know when we get them'. Also, is it a pre-order if the 17th was the day they released? I don't know of many people, if any, that were able to order on the 16th or before.

Some people are ****** because they're in first 100. my queue position is 1943
(Date ordered: 01/10/2020 12:55:02)

for 3080 ASUS TUF Non-OC, I never have got any email with update. Should I stage a protest or something?
It's kind of funny... Back in the launch days of Zen2 I have got 3900X + GB Master as one of the first ppl in UK before shortage, Now it seems I'll be the last person to receive anything :D

Anyone know hot to stop alerts? The email spam is driving me mental and I believe I've turned all the alert notifications off. Ta!
.think I've solved it....

Yes it is silly that you still able to preorder on the site. They should have stopped all preorders until they are able to fulfil all current preorders. Overclockers is the only site that seem to do this.

Edit: they actually said in the email that they'd update after every shipment. 1st class liars.

"each shipment", which sure could be interpreted as a shipment of any card, but I suspect that they mean of the card for the queue you are in. And if we want to be technical, as long as they email before the next shipment then they are meeting "after".

Now, I don't disagree that its unacceptable, and it seems clear that whoever hits the button for queue updates isn't the shipping department, so when it happens appears very disconnected from when the actual shipping. Honestly OC's biggest issue seems to be communication, and specifically that no one there seems to have taken charge of it and customer relations. They really need to pin that job on one of their customer service people to be a more public updating role to provide regular info, rather than leaving it to one sentence "we got some cards" updates from Gibbo, and second and third hand info reposted after calling customer service.

I'm out.

Sitting at 1292 in the queue for an Asus Tuf NON OC 3080 and they haven't even shipped to the UK yet so no point in continuing with this charade any longer.

I'll see if I can pick up another card elsewhere and see what AMD bring to the table and Nividia's repsone to that is.

People are annoyed as they ordered cards two weeks before you did that had and ETA of the next day and are still waiting. Yeah it's crap being in such a long list though but expected.

hey guys quick question, i got my order notification yesterday for the 3080 zotac trinity oc and i set it up for the driver to take it to aramex in slough.
now on dpd it says that a guy named cliff has recieved the package, how long would it take for aramex to register the package?
any ideas?

So just providing this for information. I ordered a 3080 elsewhere on the 30th of September and I just got notice that it has shipped and will arrive tomorrow. I ordered a Zotac Trinity OC. Pre-orders opened up due to the number of cancellations no doubt over the capacitor fiasco.

I still have my pre-order waiting on OCUK which I ordered for my wife. I'm 5th in the queue for a KFA2 but may as well be 500th or 5000th. I have no idea when they will ship...

I mean, yeah. If we ordered 10-15 minutes into orders opening and we're not even getting info about our cards that would be pretty annoying. If you're two weeks late to the party, you'd expect to be waiting a bit longer

Of people who ordered in Sept - pretty sure I'm going to get serviced last. Everyone is worried about the front of the queue I'm tempted to make it a bit fun for myself. Since I've got the top of the line Aorus on order and in plum last place I bet I get seen after the huge 4 digit queue when volume ships. Any takers on a bet haha - we could do a bag of haribo to the victor lol :D
Must have ordered in Sept mind ..... lol

I waited 12 weeks for a coffee table to be delivered, with no updates from the shop at any stage (and for what its worth, the coffee table cost as much as the MSI 3080 I have on pre-order here, and I paid 75% deposit for it). The shop suggested it was likely to be 6-8 weeks but with the pandemic it could be longer, so I just left them alone until they called me to say it was in. Yeah, it was longer than they'd suggested and was longer than I would have liked but no amount of jumping up and down was going to get me my coffee table any quicker. At least I do have that now and the wait for the foot stool begins, which I have been assured won't be with me before Christmas. Where was I? Oh yes, it's only been 3 weeks, there's very limited supply, OC have my money already, I have no idea when I'll get my MSI card but the world keeps turning and there are far more important things to worry about in life, honestly, than when a card might or might not turn up.

Would more communication be nice? Sure, but I'd rather have concrete information than possible ETAs that get your hopes up, only to be dashed when delivery dates are missed or delivery quantities aren't as big as hoped for.

I'm not mad at OCUK nor suppliers for me being away for ~~ 2 weeks on the launch day. It's just absolutely funny for me that the ppl in the first 100s in the queue will receive their cards sooner than letter. As soon as NV and Samsung resolve theirs problems with yields and logistics the supplies of AIB cards will ramps up, unless we'll face another restriction from gov regarding transport (e.g half load of HGV for DFDS and P&O) or worse another lockdown (which seems unlikely to happen) then some ppl before nov/dec will receive and I'll be still standing in the queue waiting for any updates about the situations either from OCUK, distributors, AIB or NV.

The most annoying part is lack of communication from OCUK and... NV. Even AMD famous for theirs paper launch handled the communication better.

I don't understand why every single person thought they would be one of the first people to get a card. EVERYONE seems to be ragging about how they would rather keep the money and look for a card elsewhere. Yet the same people keep coming back to this forum. I get being annoyed, hell maybe even ****** off. But this isn't healthy.

I expect to get what I paid for on the day it said it would arrive.
Well they've already told you, because the website absolutely died because of the volume of people trying to buy the GPUs, they weren't able to update it on time. Whining on a forum won't make your GPU magically appear. You have three options here. You either wait patiently until you get your GPU, or you cancel and try to buy it somewhere else. The third option is continuosly talking **** on the forums. Whichever floats your boat. Alls i'm saying is getting so emotionally invested in this is absolutely not healthy. Plus everyone else who just wants to have a chat about the stock situation has to read your temper tantrums.

Exactly, not as there are any to be had anywhere. And no matter how much we really, really want one - doesn't change availablity. Neither does knowing what queue position we are in.
