*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

OC is exactly the same as non-OC but £50 more. Hence why Asus only selling OC modeal.
there are actual differences between the tuf and strix models of asus .
Strix has higher binning, better cooling, triple 8pin for higher power limit, dual bios and onboard fan headers that are controlled by GPU thermals.
i suspect between the oc and non oc versions of the products there are at least differences like higher binning for the oc versions

They've admitted there will be card shortages through until 2021 but I've read a few reports saying that there will a big increase in card production between now and into November. I'm cautiously optimistic anyone ordering a card now will see it before Xmas and maybe even by the end of November. At least now with all these pre orders and the queue system card manufacturers know what they need to be aiming for. Hopefully they'll go that extra mile to meet demand now.

Either that or we'll all still be here complaining next June.
Hopefully. I expect the volume to increase over the next few weeks, but it is pitiful at the moment. None of the card I ordered have shipped from here yet, almost a month after launch.

They've shifted all their production to making 'OC' stickers, lol

I know mine is not ASUS but my trinity oc box the oc part is defo a sticker found it quite funny when it come and was only10£ more on overclockers for it for 15mhz and a sticker on the box

So there is something that i find hard to understand.

1. People should have known that this would have been a long wait. Previous launches took time to deliver too. Not as difficult as this one, but this was announced that will be difficult. You should have been prepared for this. I was. I read news, and knowingly went for Inno3d. And will wait.
2. Why some people sold their cards, even tho they had necessary funds for a new one(from what i can get from reading this and previously closed thread). And now they complain that they had to buy a video card to pass by. Why would you sell something working before being assured that you already have the replacement? I understand the frustration of being unable to work or play. But that is not OC fault, that is completely your fault.
3. Why are people frustrated with the pre-order? It's a pre-order, it means you are paying for something before it is released. It's like buying a still in work house/apartment then complaining to the builder why it's not finished faster just cause you imagined it should. Look at point 1. You went head first in something that was warned about before launching that will be troubled. You had an estimate time. You got a communication that it will taking more than expecting due to several issues. If you can't understand the meaning of it, you should just stay on browsers all day long and press that refresh button. Maybe you'll be lucky, maybe you won't. Personally i like being assured that i have my place in a queue, even if it moves slow or not at all at the moment. I only know, when will happen, i have it there already paid, not having to stress at all that what if i can't pay later for it.
4. People that still have a GPU in your PC. You still have one compared to some poor ones, who made unfortunate choices. If you waited 2 years through Turing for this gen, you can definitely wait a bit more. Games won't stop working on older cards with this new GPU launched

PS: The "i will never buy from here again". I've heard that so many times before. This is just venting for this product and will last until a good offer will arrive at this shop, and most will rush to buy again. even if they will say now otherwise. It's just the nature to get the best deal, no matter from where it comes.
2nd PS: Look at the bright side, you will get it in a better state, revised capacitors, better drivers, if you pre-ordered early, you are guaranteed you won't pay more due to price increase affected by demand. It only needs patience.
1. First time ordering on launch day so I didn't know what to expect. I was expecting a difficult launch but I didn't expect not to know which year my card would be shipped over a month after ordering.
2. Fair enough.
3. It wasn't really a preorder, the product was released on the 17th. At worst, most people expected to be on backorder for a few weeks.

People should be discerning about which companies they give their money to. Makes absolutely no sense not to encourage that, from a consumer perspective.

If it helps easy some of you non-OC TUF pre-order gang, I have seen a Japanies reseller is getting stock 26Oct-2Nov not sure how that will effect me and my ticket number 1115 (whoop woop)
on the plus side we can stop F5'in on the Nvidia site

The other thing is charging (not taking a deposit) the thick end of a grand for a card that might not appear in stock until 2021.

Its certainly interesting that OC's are taking full paid up front pre orders when most other online stores I've seen aren't and have just stopped taking orders entirely until they can take care of their back log.

Truthfully though the reason I ordered with OC's last night is that they're the only big UK store that seems to be taking pre orders and doing a queue system. I just want to know that I will get a 3080 eventually and know I'm guaranteed now to get one.

TBH I prefer paying full upfront. if I had the money sitting around waiting in my bank account I'd just spend it on something else lol.

careful, pointing that out is illegal apparently

The problem is that they can only make so many and they're already cranking out what they can so i can't see a huge increase in numbers. More regular/consistant deliveries maybe the best we can hope for and of any increase i dread to think what OCUK will see. If people expected to clear those queues by nov/dec im sure they would be shouting it. As it is the silence makes me think its going to be much much longer. I really do hope i'm wrong though

Bit the bullet last nigh and ordered a Gigabyte Eagle OC. No idea where I will be in the queue. I'm guessing that reddit post from the Norwegian shop is a fairly typical breakdown of the popularity of the various cards versus the stock getting through at the moment.
I thought the Eagle would be one of the more popular cards out there. Looks like I'm not wrong.

Obviously I'm not holding my breath to get my card. I'm guessing late November is probably being realistic. Anything sooner will be a nice surprise I suppose.
You’ll be 2000+ in the queue and lucky to get it before February. I believe the eagle is one of the most preordered cards :p

Fair, I can see your point.

9,221 orders for 3080's in the queue based on the latest data from the unofficial spreadsheet. That's an increase of ~300 in a few days.

108 3080's estimated to have shipped since 7th October.

It's more just the lack of communication which is causing the problem.
When there is a lack of formal communication, rumour and speculation takes over. This is exactly what is happening here.
