AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Expected to Launch in Q1 2020 (After Rocket Lake)

https://www.hardwaretimes.com/amd-ryzen-5-5600-expected-to-launch-in-q1-2020-after-rocket-lake/

As per sources on Twitter, AMD will launch the Ryzen 5 5600 shortly after or before the Rocket Lake-S launch, with a price-tag of $220. It is expected that the Ryzen 5 5600X performs similar or better than the Core i7-10700 in gaming workloads while severely outperforming it in multi-threaded applications.

I don't see what room they have for another 65W SKU... Maybe the 5600 will be 45W CPU?
Or an overclocked salvaged quad core with eight threads?!

After Rocket Lake, means Q2 2021, because Rocket Lake is already in March or the last days of Q1 2021.

If this is true,at least that is a far more reasonable price IMHO. Hopefully there will be a Ryzen 7 5700/5700X closer to the £300 mark too.

From what we know so far the non X parts probably have enough about them to murder the entire rocket lake S stack.

Not sure how it will severely beat an 8 core in multicore when it looks to be about 500 points behind the i7 in R20, maybe they meant the i5 i guess?

However I did find this interesting.

Also if thats true then good luck to anyone thinking of using the wraith stealth on a 5600X.

5600x pricing seems cheeky.

I bought my 3600x not long after launch for around £190 iirc.

They want an extra £100 this time around that's a 50% increase on price.

I understand that prices have gone up but that seems like a lot for little improvement.

I'd suggest that you are better off buying a 3600 currently and spending the extra £100 on better ram, gpu or motherboard and use the Ryzen clock tuner to overclock it some.

You might have done but the RRP was £239 at release and these at £289 so it's not 50% at RRP. We have no idea if shortly after launch this won't drop £40 off it to get it to similar price to the 10600k it is competing against. In the end they are competing at the US dollar price first which the 10600k is $299 and so the 5600x at same $299 makes sense for that market.
