Any point spending £250 to upgrade?

I'm thinking of getting into some more games, some sort of online FPS would be good and maybe some more adventurey type things. Though I have no idea what's really out there, all I play at the moment is CSGO and Two Points Hospital!

This is my current spec. Is it worth spending £250 or should I really just start from scratch? I'm not looking for amazing performance, my monitor is an old 60mhz Samsung 21" thing. I don't imagine I'm going to achieve anything here, but thought I'd have a shot. Obviously very happy to buy second (or sixth!) hand..

CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 925
GFX - GeForceGTX 970
RAM- 2 x DDR3 (OCZ PC3-8500F (533MHz) & 1 x DDR3 (Corsair PC3-10700H (667MHz)
Mobo - ASUS M4A77TD
Power - BeQuiet l7-530w

If you go second hand you should be able to get a Ryzen 2600/B450/16GB of RAM within that and reuse the rest.

Maybe an SSD if you don't have one.

Your 970 is still a passable card for 1080P, but if you were to sell your old gear + GPU you might be able to squeeze in an upgrade for that also.

I'd put in a request on the Members Market.
