Hello, looking for help on a ryzen build. I know the new cpu's have been announced but wondering if i can still get a decent build out the current ones. Also looking to have mobo which is future proof should i upgrade. Wifi is a must and also if i can include monitor keyboard and mouse. Thanks

1080 or 1440 not really sure i think cost comes into it tbh. And as for rgb, again I'm not too fussed im open to a few options. Yes it will be for gaming mainly cod and flight sim Thanks

If i where to look at these options what are the differences to the original one you suggested
Nothing wrong with your build mick - prices obviously vary and other brands available to reduce price to closer to his budget:

  • MSI MPG B550 WiFi ~£160 (Cashback ~£40 with 3600)
  • 3600 ~£160
  • TForce 32GB ~£99 (16GB ~£60)
  • Kingston 1TB m.2 NVMe 1TB - ~£99
  • MSI 1660 Super ~£200
  • Artic Freezer 34 ~£20
  • Corsair 750W RM ~£99 (worth it for future upgrades - and 10 year warranty)
  • Kolink Case - Micks choice is great. ~£60
  • AOC Gaming 27G2U 27" IPS ~£200 (Your view of your hardware so great to get a decent quality/sized screen)
  • Total ~£1060 with cash back
Money can be further saved with PSU, monitor and memory if needed - approx. another ~£140

Based on the above suggestions is there any other gpu's i could take a look at and could anyone confirm if they will be good enough given the budget of 1000 to run MSFS
Is the build mainly for MSFS?

If buying now - you would have to go via the second hand market to keep within/near your budget to better the 1660 Super. And, even then, you would have to look out for the odd local anomaly/bargain via social media for a 5700XT or 2070S.

Your other option is dropping to a 1080p panel (if wanting significant performance increase) - but this would be unfortunate if you think you would have the funds to upgrade your GPU in 12 to 18 months time. Plus, 1440p at 27" really is the optimal res/panel size and for future GPUs upgrades/gaming. And the 1660 Super would carry you through most other 1440p games in relative comfort until your were ready to upgrade. A 27" 1440p really is the sweetspot for res/size and if considering the above spec is a great foundation for a bigger GPU (First) and then a CPU upgrade when you feel it's needed.

*perhaps search MSFS gameplay at 1440p using 1660 Super or similar - setting compromises may not be that drastic...

You can save money on the above spec - but it was built with an eye on future upgrades as well as allowing decent performance now.

You could save money on PSU, memory, and monitor (1080p) and bump up GPU - but this will all impact on future upgrades (which could be significant with recent/future GPU releases - quantum leap) - but would enable immediate gratification at 1080p.

Personally, i would take the hit at 1440p in a few games, and know that i could stick in a 3070 within 18 months and have a super fast PC with an eye on Zen 3 whenever you feel the need.
