Intel v AMD (3700x v 9600K)

Hey,

Im looking to upgrade CPU , currently have an i7-6700k

I keep coming back to these two CPU's , the 3700x and the 9600k

The 3700x seems like the more popular choice but I can't work out why when I look at benchmarks

What would your preference be - and if not either of the two above what else?

Is it the ability to overclock to 3700x more than the 9600k?

I wouldn't buy a 6core 6thread cpu in 2020..
Go with ryzen...

It's practically prehistoric now, along with 4c cpus.

Not that bad.. But unless you can get it very cheap it just doesn't make sense

Don't use userbenchmark ... it's more than a bit flawed and heavily favours Intel - even when their own results contradict their conclusions.

Yeah wasn't there a thread all on it's own about Userbenchmark being flawed /favouring Intel? So basically don't look to that for comparisons!
