*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Im 1018 in the non oc queue. If I move to the early 900's I'll be happy enough, still going to enter the gauntlet for the 3070 next week.

I orderd the stix 3080 which seems to be the lowest out of all the cards getting sent out so it's going to take a while, so whats going to happen to the watchdogs game? doesnt it release soon by time i get my card the next watch dogs will be out lol

Hi folks, i'm in a bit of a conundrum and would like some opinions:

Currently sitting 5th in the queue for Zotac 3080 Trinity non-OC (which doesn't appear that it has moved since 'launch').
The GPU is the last piece to get my desktop finished and i've been considering whether to get a second hand card to get it done until the 3080 arrives. Haven't been doing heavy gaming lately and the reason I got the 3080 is to do some deep learning (which my laptop with a 1050 can't handle)

So the question is: to buy a used card or not?
I'm pretty sure that as soon as I buy the second hand card I'll get some news on the zotac and immediately regret buying the second one :p

@Gibbo so can we expect some MSI delivery today? Your competitors got 2 MSI deliveries yesterday one of which they called "Extra" how is this possible when your the biggest Nvidia seller in the UK?

I'm in the same position. I would recommend waiting it out, people are receiving their cards. The OC version of the Zotac card is shipping out in the next few days which gives me a little bit more confidence with the non-OC version. Or, you know, just cancel it so I get moved along in the queue ;)

grab a used 580 8gb, I picked up a red devil variant for 120 and will be happy limping along on that for a few months

I cancelled my order 2 weeks ago.

I feel a lot of you are living on false hope, and will be week and weeks, if not months until you get your cards.

The anger will also grow once the cards are easily purchased from other venders when OC are still getting silly low numbers on delivery.

I can't believe so many people are still wearing the rose tinted glasses on here.

You could try to get your hands on an RTX3070 at launch which will outperform any second hand card, and will hold its value as well. Or you can wait for big Navi which allegedly costs a similar amount to the 3070 but performs close to the 3080. Either of these are probably a better option than a second hand card.

If shipments are still 'silly low numbers' then the cards will not be 'easily purchased' elsewhere, they will be the usual F5 lottery as each batch opens up at a random point in the day.

Some prefer to wait in a queue rather than hunting down stock on the net.

You made your choice and if it ever does become easy to find them elsewhere than others will make the same choice, meanwhile they can stay in the queue and see what happens, nothing lost.

But there is no harm in keeping the order alive. I'm am keeping an eye out for other venders as well. If I manage to get a card from other venders before OC, then I will cancel my order with OC. I believe this is what all of us doing here. We are not that stupid just relay on OC

agreed, I'm running Distill and keeping order until I can find a 3080/ get my Tuf shipped.

I did find a zotac 3090 on a competitor but cancelled due to the stupid price and the poor build reviews.

False alarm on receipt of my Inno3D 3080. I've just had notification from OCUK that they shipped me a 3090 by mistake and have now recalled it. Oh well...

I wonder what the rules are on actual physical receipt of an incorrect product which is better than the one you ordered, do you have to return it if they ask, or can you keep it pending the replacement.

my understanding of Gibbo's last post was that MSI were shipping cards on the 23rd so unlikely that OC will have them before the end of next week if they are coming from the far east. I'm position 41 for an MSI Trio

I know thats what his post said. But my point was the competition is doing far better with dealing with all stock issues. Oh btw planes don't take that long to get to the UK.

That makes sense though in terms of what Gibbo said earlier this week about shipments.

Frustrating, but shouldn't be too much longer now before the correct stock arrives for you.
