What do you mean by 'in performance'? What applications? In single threaded stuff the 5600X will be faster than the 3900X, in fully threaded stuff the 3900X be faster, probably also faster than the 5800X too.

And, the Strix X570-E is an unnecessarily expensive board for strict budget.
I totally agree, and I admit it was somewhat of an impulse decision, have always believed in going for a solid base mixed with a beautiful looking board. Going for X570 gives a lot of wiggle room for overclocking, upgrade and expansion, the Strix X570-E whilst I agree, overpriced, all reviews including Buildzoids breakdown was very positive (Obvs except for the pricing).
As for the performance it will mostly be used for gaming which I believe is typically more single core. The sort of design I do for furniture wouldn't be render heavy.

Latency on GB5 is about 5.5ns above what you'll see in AIDA. Once you remove that, it's in the 68 range which isn't abnormal for current zen. If they broke IF ratio, that would add more.

must be broken with 4200mhz memory - if it was 1:1 the latency should be under 60ns

What do you guys think would be the difference between the 3900X and say the 5600x or 5800x in performance. I am building my new PC with Strix X570-E motherboard and am on a very strict budget for each component, CPU £350 max give or take a very small margin.
Go for the 3900X or wait for 5600x/5800x.

Thanks in advance folks.
I'd say at least 6, or BBB if that helps.

something is off, how can the multicore score basically be the same as the 3800x when its got a higher clock speed at stock and 19% IPC

My RAM latency is not stock. I don't know if the tightened timings helped with MT, but my 3800X is still getting stomped in ST.

Wiat for real reviews, i'm not sure geekbench is actually much in the way of actually testing the CPU's performance.

It seems to be more about raw IO and memory througput, which is fine for a Pentium 4 which comared to a modern CPU is little more than a baisic calculator.

You can compare the individual breakdowns which is much more valuable than just looking at the overall score.

Thats not my experience, maybe different versions behaves different. I tried GB4 a lot..basically i get 72ns with stock xmp 3600 and 66-67 with tuned timings. And under aida i saw 65.8.

Maybe the changes in architecture means these CPUs run hotter and have a lower all core boost, could be a reason why AMD are not including coolers with the 8 and 12 core this time around.
