ha ha maybe i've been out of the loop too long, i remember the willy waving some 10+ years ago when my q6600 got over 4 gigahertz lol.

We do the latency is 73ns = crap
I get 6k and 50k with 3900x and tuned 3600 ram.
I totally agree, and I admit it was somewhat of an impulse decision, have always believed in going for a solid base mixed with a beautiful looking board. Going for X570 gives a lot of wiggle room for overclocking, upgrade and expansion, the Strix X570-E whilst I agree, overpriced, all reviews including Buildzoids breakdown was very positive (Obvs except for the pricing). What do you mean by 'in performance'? What applications? In single threaded stuff the 5600X will be faster than the 3900X, in fully threaded stuff the 3900X be faster, probably also faster than the 5800X too.
And, the Strix X570-E is an unnecessarily expensive board for strict budget.

Latency on GB5 is about 5.5ns above what you'll see in AIDA. Once you remove that, it's in the 68 range which isn't abnormal for current zen. If they broke IF ratio, that would add more.
I'd say at least 6, or BBB if that helps. What do you guys think would be the difference between the 3900X and say the 5600x or 5800x in performance. I am building my new PC with Strix X570-E motherboard and am on a very strict budget for each component, CPU £350 max give or take a very small margin.
Go for the 3900X or wait for 5600x/5800x.
Thanks in advance folks.

And for anyone interested, a stock 3900x (with 3600Mhz RAM 16,16,16,36) vs the above 5900x
https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/compare/15825034?baseline=15827312
https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/compare/4297790?baseline=4312091
Tuned RAM (3800 62.9ns), otherwise stock.
something is off, how can the multicore score basically be the same as the 3800x when its got a higher clock speed at stock and 19% IPC
Seems that 5900x is only 13% better than 3900x on multicore if we go off just the scores, are there any 5800x vs 3800x comparisons ?
Wiat for real reviews, i'm not sure geekbench is actually much in the way of actually testing the CPU's performance.
It seems to be more about raw IO and memory througput, which is fine for a Pentium 4 which comared to a modern CPU is little more than a baisic calculator.

Maybe the changes in architecture means these CPUs run hotter and have a lower all core boost, could be a reason why AMD are not including coolers with the 8 and 12 core this time around.something is off, how can the multicore score basically be the same as the 3800x when its got a higher clock speed at stock and 19% IPC
Oi! My Socket 478 Prescott heard that and is now crying. Apologise.which is fine for a Pentium 4 which comared to a modern CPU is little more than a baisic calculator
