*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

just sit here reading occasionally, and way I am seeing it, if people want better communication like other sellers, they could just, well, cancel their order and try to order through those sellers

not very articulate, I know, but the option was always there to cancel for a full refund

awaiting news on the ASUS Strix OC, there will be an update for them when there is news to give. still sat in position 16 ~ thus none have shipped since the first batch

Nice to know other companies in the UK are getting EVGA cards but OCUK seem to be getting none.

Without getting into specific competitor debate, there are two ways to handle the stock shortage.

Take a limited amount of orders across all cards then shut down ordering and when you've delivered the orders for a particular card offer the excess to people queuing for other cards and only then offer anything remaining to new orders in an F5 lottery.

That works for those who ordered very early and don't care which card they get, but doesn't work for anyone who didn't get an order in during the first few hours.

... or you can keep pre-orders open and let people queue for the card they want, that works for those who want a particular card and those who didn't manage to order in the first few hours, but it doesn't work for those who ordered early and picked the 'wrong' card and don't care which card they get.

Neither is a better solution for everyone and each will have their fans because it suits them.

The key difference is that if you decide you'd rather have option one it is too late to do anything about it if you didn't get there in the first few hours, at least with option 2 you can elect to join the queue anytime you want...

This is spot on. It's particularly relevent here because when you're building a PC you might need a specific card due to its dimensions or other particulars, or how it looks when building a specialist rig. OC continuing to take pre-orders is based on their knowledge of the things a lot of their customers want. If someone joins the queue behind you it has no bearing on your order, it's a pointless thing to complain about. If someone is complaining because their queue position is in the 1000's then OC not taking pre-orders wouldn't have changed anything about that for them except them not being in a queue at all.

I just ordered a Phanteks case for my new computer, OCUK had stimated arrival of the product 20th or 21th i cant remember, and i received the product in 1 day.
The same with my 970 6years ago
I dont know many rivals in uk but i do in spain and they are pretty much the same, (coming next, preorder or out of stock). Just a few people are getting the cards.
So i know OCUK is doing the best and asap they get the cards they will send them
im also dissapointed because the poor comunication, they also apologiced in the other post
I would say at this point cancel, wait ,search for other ways its been always an option
its 696 pages of blaming, i think we could change the post into something more productive as reviews, overclocking settings, or games youre expecting to play when getting your cards (apart from cyberpunk) we could make a nice list of games, we could have feedback from the ones they have the cards or we could post

And how many EVGA cards did they get? 2? Which models did they receive and whyat was the breakdown of numbers across the 4 different cards?

You're 100% correct. It's much better what we get here, no numbers, just a code of: ok, dream, small, I feel like I'm back in the army. BTW, even if they only get 2 EVGA's from time to time, it's still more than none? Is my maths correct?

Serious question now? Are you on their payroll?

No I'm not on their payroll and I'm not defending them, but I am critical of people who see a tiny bit of information and think they have all knowedge when they have next to nothing. Take for instance your comment about the codes, if you understood what was going on you would know that OCUK and others are under an NDA where they cannot disclose the actual quantites and the code is a way of getting around that.

How do you know for certain that OCUK has not shipped a single EVGA card ?

I do note that you weren't able to answer an single one of my questions, mainly because the information which you claim is there simply isn't! Why do you persist in claiming there is masses of information being given to you when there's next to nothing ?

Question:
It is obvious to me that my TUF wont arrive till april next year so I will have at least a ps5 to cheer me up. Problem is that I pre ordered cyberpunk 2077 on PC.

My question is: will gtx 1080 manage cyberpunk at high pre set in 1080p? Or would I be better buying it again on ps5? Ps5 will.be hooked up to 1080p TV.

Option 1 - rebuy it on ps5 and play it on ps5 for maximum eye candy.

Option 2 - play it on PC , steamlink > downstairs TV and high preset? The only graphic setting I will not have on PC is ray tracing which on consoles will be reduced anyway right?

Thanks.
Cyberpunk won't have Ray Tracing support until next year on consoles. I don't even think it's been confirmed as day one for PC yet but they have announced the update will be available next year for consoles.

Blame Samsung not being able to meet demand.

No, blame Covid. Millions of people with no holiday, cinema, restaurants, car fuel or bars to suck up their money. There isn't just a shortage of graphics cards. Inkjet printers, business laptops, decent RAM.... there's been a global shortage, root cause = C19.

Sadly you can't go for the second option, at least not any time soon. Whilst it is going to be released for next gen consoles, CDPR stated that the update would be "at a later date", so don't expect it on PS5 for the foreseeable.

I'm just going for option 3... replay the game when I finally get my 3080 :p

Hahha option 3 sounds good ! So I will go for option 2 and option 3 some time next year. Thanks.

Seems like they have got more than OCUK even if its just one.

That is true, but if you follow the EVGA forums you'll see that deliveries across the whole of Europe are in tiny numbers.

In the USA they are making more substantial deliveries to retailers and selling on their own US store, in Europe even EVGA's own store has zero stock.

They say there will be larger deliveries for Europe before Christmas but that's about as detailed as it gets right now.

Even in the USA there are many complaints that only the high-end EVGA cards are shipping, sounds familiar doesn't it...?
