Hi

I have been asked to put a PC together for a friends son - price critical - and a base to be able to do some minor updates a year or so into ownership, mouse Keyboard and monitor not required.

Wanted for gaming - Minecraft, Fortnight etc.. - and homework

Thanks in advance

Looks good for the budget could save some money going micro atx but you would have to add wifi if needed.

Wifi required - I did have it as micro atx but struggle to get a Mboard with wifi, also thought the ATX size would help with future upgrades

Does anyone know if the Processor comes with a cooler ?

M-ATX version that's slightly over budget:

I'd consider a second hand 2600 or similar personally as you could save £20-30 with a bit of luck. Hold in mind that if you do go that route the B550 wont support the chip, you'd need to go back to the B450 you were looking at.

Better PSU, better motherboard, potentially better case as I'm concerned about the glass front on the Python restricting airflow, but given the vents in the side it might be fine. If you don't want to go M-ATX the Lian Li suggested above by @southernorth is a much better option imo.

The Bitfenix Formula is a much better psu. The B450M Mortar is pretty solid, and it will support Ryzen 5000 once the bios update is released. Added a cheap wifi adapter.
