The week commencing 12 October was the only week they haven't had any ASUS 3080s. They are getting some this week the post says 305 between all brands on 3080. So they are getting some this week. Even if it's a small amount it's still some. And look at the lengthy posts everyday from these guys. They least give a dam about keeping people updated no matter what. They have had EVGA cards every week too since they released. OCUK has had 0 and rather than keep people informed and calm people. OCUK and really Gibbo just doesn't bother. And letting OCUK loose 1000s of pre orders on cancellations. I can almost guarantee if people in top 100 canceled here for the Asus 3080 and went to back of the 800 queue on that place they would likely get before here still. Lol

2 likely went in pre builds there is no way what Gibbo's said about getting different allocation from AIBs for pre builds that are boxed. Pre build allocation comes OEM packaged. They do not give boxes. OCUK where 100% using cards we pre ordered for pre builds.

I don't think you are misunderstanding. I get that create a bug new story and hype around the demand could be good to drive business, but you need to fulfill that demand. Especially if AMD have something competitive and in stock. You need the big glut of stock BEFORE they announce as that's when people will reevaluate. The fact there is still no news of big shipments and AMD announcing in a couple of days suggests a proper shortage rather than some epic 6D chess move to blow AMD out of the water.

The equation for me is simple, on 17th September I was 100% intending to buy a 3080. The longer the wait and the more I hear about AMD 6000 series, the less likely I am to get Nvidia. There will be thousands waiting in these queues doing the same calculation and reassessing their options. I don't see why you'd risk it if you could help it.

I think the other issue is the fact Nvidia delayed the launch of 3070 by two weeks, and yet they still have next to no stock in retaillers even with that extra time period. They claimed to have based sales on the sales of the failed Turing 20xx series but it seems that they aren't even delivering in those quantities. I think they are going to lose an awful lot of sales over this, and the cause appears to be the lack of a decent marketing department.
Much of the tech industry is production led, Apple being a case in point where a product is made and the sales department told to go sell it. There is little market research being carried out into what people want, and this time Nvidia made something at a price point lots of people wanted and were surprised at its popularity.

Yep I agree. There is no way they would want a customer to cancel a £2-3k system if the card wasn't available so they will just stick a card in from normal delivery. They don't want to lose the margin.

Are OC offering pre builds with the more expensive cards in? I ain't seen any advertised with 3080 Xtreme's in
