*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Didn't even know about the founders editions sale a week ago, what the hell.

I'm so done with these companies that can't get their **** together.

I've cancelled my order for a ASUS TUF NON OC which I gather wouldn't have appeared on my doorstep till some time next year - what would be a good GPU to tide me over for a year or so? Planning on playing Cyberpunk of course and the build was based around playing at 1440p. 2070 Super? No offence to OCUK as I know they aren't in the best situation (not that they've handled it particularly well either) but I plan on buying it somewhere I can click 'buy' and actually get it.
Try to snag a 3070 in 2 days time? or wait for the new AMD cards? Other than that as a placeholder anything GTX 1080 or newer will genuinely do and deliver 60++ fps in all titles at 1440p.

I got lucky. My 3090 arrived last Tuesday. Now awaiting one final piece for the new build.

I can't really see the appeal. But then, I'm not some bearded topknotted hipster **** sat in a coffee shop in Shoreditch, reading my copy of wheatgrass furniture weekly over an iced mochafrapachinolatte.
I’ve worked in IT for ten years and am the complete opposite of a hipster (beards should be banned). when you spend all day having to get things working the last thing you want and need is a flakey phone. I’ve gone to apple after 9 years on android as I just need my phone to work. Finding out Samsung had screwed the European market with a weaker cpu for the same price as USA on the note 20 ultra was the final straw.
And I’m never going to join the Scientologists cult that buy one plus’.

Asus are selling the non OC Tuff model directly on their own website - at least they are in france - a number were for sale just now on their web shop but they dont ship to UK. sold out quickly though

I assume this is not in breach of the compitor rules as its the manufatrcurer etc selling the card.

If this is true then it shows how messed up Asus is at allocating stock by putting it on their own website which has no pre-orders instead of shipping stock to their resellers with 100's and 1000's of back orders. If true then Asus have got problems with how they allocate, they should be sending stock to resellers with back orders and not selling on their own site with no back orders.

Nah man, I been rocking a beard long before the agile, frapacichino, banyan board check cloth shirt brigade came to town.

Don't be dissing the beards bro, unless your not able to grow one like.....

ASUS have royally angered me with their approach tbh. I don't blame OCUK for how long my order is taking (the early lack of comms was annoying, but it's gotten a lot better the last two weeks and I appreciate talking to asus is like getting blood from a stone), it's purely down to ASUS's selfish greed.

I just don't understand why they would ask you to sell a product that they don't really intend to actively make. I know you said they are still making them but let's be realistic, if every single gpu is meeting their OC requirements and they're not actually sending out any non-OCs then that to me is not making them. It really wouldn't hurt them all that much to just send a small number out as non-OC regardless. Probably hurting their profit more by not doing this judging from how their facebook page is looking, people abandoning ASUS in droves all over a £30 markup on a product that costs them £0 extra.

I can wait now at least. I managed to snag an Aorus Master, although it's too big and fancy so I'd still much rather have my TUF (plus there's a waterblock on its way to me right now for the TUF...). Luckily I'm in a position where once my TUF arrives, a friend will give me what I paid for this Aorus (assuming stock hasn't improved by then lol), my PC just has to look a bit cramped for a while :P
