PC Grinding noise narrowed down, please advice

bad psu can indeed cause coil whine.. AFAIK if the ripple is to much on 12v rail it may happen
I don't think it was a bad PSU for its time (Corsair AX750); it had a 7 year warranty when I purchased it in 2013 and lasted until 2019, but I have a feeling if I plugged it into my old rig it would be fine (I get the feeling that my rig in my signature was a bit too much for it and couldn't supply the GPU with the demand it wanted).

My psu has never been used before though and it's a seasonic prime ultra 750 platinum. I wish I could easily purchase a new one and try again but the psu market is in shambles right now.

Yes it's frustrating for me as well as for you; from my point of view it would be much easier for me to put my PSU into your rig and see if that makes the issue go away (along with different swapping out some componments until the noise was eliminated) and it wouldn't hurt to have another set of ears listening for the noise.

Realistically, I don't think that is going to happen unless you are somewhere near me (I'm in Southampton).

Admittidly I have not heard of madvr so you'll have to forgive my ignorance on it.

For reference, my issue that I said here:

I think I had it with my old PSU: it was very annoying and made me think that something was wrong with the GPU until I started investigating on how old the PSU was (had just under 1 year of warranty left). Decided to bite the bullet and get an over spec PSU and the noise went away.
I was trying to play Forza Horizon 4 and trying to benchmark my rig (so it was pushing the card). I ended up diagnosing it with a friend I talked to on another forum and they suggested the PSU was at fault.

Haha well it's the thought that counts. I can be there in 2 days if you'll be home :P

Madvr is the video renderer to use if you want the absolute best image quality. With that said, the 4k profile is overkill. Using a lighter one will probably rectify the coil whine issue without sacrificing quality.

Right, so if I have that correctly then, it is definately pushing your GPU.

Have you had any other things go wrong (eg blue screens of death, programs crashing)?
