*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Luckily I had a direct link to the buy page which was posted up. The buy button never got chance to appear on Nvidia. I knew the Nvidia OOS link changed 5 mins earlier, so I was on multiple forums on multiple screens.
It 100% did change its where I got the link from. Just wasn't up for more that 10 minutes

Totally agree.

I was 19th now lucky 13...

Felt kinda hopeful and a bit gutted when I got the email to simply say 'queue update' but, honestly, if I was number 9 in the queue and expected to be included in this '10-30' order - man, I'd be livid... Not sure the 'very small/small/OK' descriptions are a good way to go. In my mind, it creates expectations when now, one two/three occasions nothing has come to fruition.

That's just for the OC Strix - let alone other queues.

It's an absolute madness, mate.

Ok, I'm newly signed up here but have been in the ASUS NO OC TUF queue along with many of us for ages. I'm not here to gloat about the fact I just nabbed an F.E from 'the other place' but to clear up, believe it or not, some of the misinformation here and maybe help others as nobody else is answering how they got one.

First of all, those saying NV's site didn't update. IT DID. There was a BUY NOW button (I also have 'photo proof' of this)

Secondly, the other site lasted about 10 minutes, had two visual captchas and I paid with paypal. Got two payment emails asap, delivery tomorrow.

I'm not a botter/scalper BUT I was using distill in chrome to monitor Nvidia's site to for changes. IT chirped and I went.

You *MUST* monitor the correct page on nvidia, not the main 3080 product page (that doesn't change) but the 'see all options' page with all cards listed with FE at top (usually says out of stock of course :/)

Monitor that page with distill plug-in, set it to at least every 2 mins and then get on with your work. It'll chirp/beep/whatever you set.

When I went to NVIDIA's Site (I had no clue of any competitors URL so that's wrong info people are saying above), it said "BUY NOW" and it stayed saying that for a few minutes (not too long).

Clicking it took me to THE OTHER SITE which has a new random URL each time a drop happens it seems. So only monitor NVIDIA's options page.

The other page AT FIRST was live but NO BUY NOW or ADD TO BASKET (at competitor). For at least 3? minutes. This confused me I almost clicked away thinking it was a false positive and error.

Decided to refresh THE OTHER PAGE and "ADD TO BASKET" came up. 2 captchas later. I've got an F.E

I'm going to cancel my ASUS non OC (and non existant) TUF later today. I'm at queue position 700 something.

I feel your pain, it's been stupid this past month.

I don't care if AMD drop somethign amazing tonight, I don't like AMD software/drivers and as I use VR and *WANT* to use RT as much as currently poss - Nvidia is my choice even with just 10GB.

IF NV release a 3080ti or 20gb soon, even at a good price, I couldn't take that risk. My old 7080 had died recently and am running on an 8700k's igpu ;) not good... and got a reverb G2 HMD coming next month and nothing to run it with (but now I have).

Asus are idiots doing what they are doing (though in fairness this ENTIRE MESS lies firmly with NVIDIA - nobody else). Overclockers are, imo, not at fault here and am thankful they even ALLOWED us to get in a queue. It is after all completely your choice. cancel if it feels wrong or hold out for the AMD and FE cancellers over the next weeks.

Also, in my opinion, Nvidia have been taking the micky out of gamers since PASCAL MILKING (back during mining boom), they've had us over a barrel (hence me not upgrading since GTX780!! lol). 1080ti was a great card but too soon for my upgrade, I waited... for volta(turing), and that was a stupid set of cards, barely any perf per dollar improvements and stupid Ti pricing.

£650 is about my limit, sane limit, for a GPU that is MEANT to give us good gains over last gen. Used to be £500 ish. Tis were mid 600s. I advise people not to buy expensive so called OC editions, or scalpers overpriced BS and esp not the 3090 unless you're a dev who needs that VRAM. 3080 itself will be outdated soon sure, but it's still a good card for a 'fair' price. I paid £700 for my ASUS non OC tuf with OC (with postage) while I've just bagged and FE with FREE postage and saved £50! A beautiful design on the FE too that will hold its value better. My point is that I don't care if AMD or NV release better cards now, cos for 650 I'm happy for a few years...
Good luck everyone.

Tbf the site had measures to stop bots, website used had random letters and was a completely new page and it also had 2 capture events before letting you buy. Was literally a matter of lots of people getting one instead of bots.

Asus are now selling Non OC TUF cards on their own sites in other countries in the EU (you cant order them, they will only deliver to that country). Still no stock to UK stores though. Not OC's fault this time, Asus are screwing their own partners.

It changed from Out of Stock to blank ie no buy button and the price, later it changed back to Out of Stock, there was no link to buy at any point.
I even moved my cursor all over the page to check for an invisible link.

That was on the page listed above with all options.

Yeah seeing them go up for sale elsewhere whilst knowing being 600 in the queue here from a day-of-release order stings

Aside from the fact that Gibbos post clearly said Strix OC (with no mention of Non) hopefully someone in the Non-OC queue can confirm by way of a queue update email, otherwise something very off is going on if this is true!

Yeah, not sure what happened in the call. As I said, the first response I got when I said "it was a VERY SMALL quantity not a SMALL one" was "no, there were 13 cards". After some more waiting time I was told the 13 amount was of NON-OC. But that doesn't add up.

But at this point that's literally a lie, he is NOT referring to both he specifically mentioned "small amount of STRIX 3080 OC" nothing about non-OC, it's such a joke at this point.

I am even surprised that they "supposedly" got their hands on some non-oc. Mind my lack of information but I thought they weren't out anywhere.

Lets say there was a direct link. That is hardly fair when the nvidia site never updated.

There was no known direct link! It was linked to the 'buy now' button on nvidia's site, the actual store URL had random numbers after it - NOBODY could have known it in advance until NVIDIA linked to it! How do you think we all got to that URL? Via Nvidia's BUY NOW button. The actual store link is still live showing out of stock (on the competitor) but you can bet it'll be a dead page later just like last time, and next drop will be a brand new, UNKNOWN to anyone, URL that will ONLY link from Nvidia's buy now button (on the 'see all buying choices' page NOT the main 3080 product page)

USE DISTILL plugin on your browser with a high check frequency.
