Should I Fit Lowering Springs To My A45?

Title really, I am tempted to fit some H&R lowering springs to my A45 to get rid of the arch gap and make it more aesthetically pleasing. The drop is 25mm front, 25mm rear. I like the aesthetic of these, but have a real concern about them ruining the ride / making it to stiff for crappy UK roads,I will be running on OEM dampers. I have never fitted any springs with this big a drop to any of my previous cars so just looking for some input.

Thanks

It will ride with all the subtlety and comfort of falling down a staircase. So, if you're okay with that and want to prioritise chavvy looks over ride and handling then go for it.

Hmm, do you think it will be that bad? I fitted eibach springs to previous cars and they typically made no difference to comfort. But they were never more than 15mm in terms of drop.

The main question to ask is do you want to look like a chav teenager or not? Very rare to see a modern everyday car put on lowering springs and look well composed for both sporting driving and decency/class.

Depending on age and mileage. You’d be better off getting a proper set of shocks mated to springs if you want to go down that route.

Otherwise leave it as standard on such a car.

If you do any of the kind of roads, etc. I do it would be a huge liability between the pot holes and speed bumps and so on :s

I followed one of those performance A class (45 s?) the other day.... 4 fake exhaust holes built into the rear diffuser but only 2 tiny little pissy pipes sitting right behind them - if I owned a performance A that would be what I changed, looks absolutely ridiculous.

Ah, the A160D that’s driven through a branch of Halfords look.

That above looks too low, I wonder if the steering actually works.

Eibachs more comfortable whilst still looking good, H&R’s are usually a bit too aggressive on the drop IMO but ultimately your decision. Springs and spacers are usually a great combo for subtle differences, your car guy would notice but average Joe probably not.

Judging from the responses so far you might be best asking on another forum though

Fake exhausts on performance cars have been a thing for a while. Its not even hard to spot it :\

Lowering a car isnt a good idea in the UK really. You'll end up scraping the bottom on speed bumps and maybe just awful roads.
