*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

It Is I'm not leaving those forums to go xxxx Reddit lol :D

They run this forum to drive business, not do us a favour. People can vent frustration at ocuk when they screw up without the need of fanboys coming along with snide comments about going elsewhere.

Anyway that bit isn't aimed at you, just a general observation. Reddit isn't that bad, no worse than any usual amd/nvidia discussion/detailment..etc.

Down in the South American forest, there is a MSIGeforce RTX 3080 Ventus 3X OC, GeForce RTX™ 3080 VENTUS 3X 10G OC for sale currently...for £1,299 (double the RRP). It's also being sold by MSI, not even a scalper 'store'.

Is that really what these manufacturers think of us?

Suggest you read properly. They're not being sold by MSI...

Not many computer forums got car subsection with meetings.

Most of the "scalpers" that you see on various selling sites will be manufacturers, resellers and associated businesses. That might or might not be MSI, who knows. If resellers have the choice between making £100 margin and £500 in a market where supply is very limited, it is not difficult to see why they do it. It has been going on since before I started working in the industry in the 90s.

IT companies are not likely to let a good crisis go to waste. If there isn't volume to sell, then margin becomes even more essential than ever.

I feel like this forum has a higher bar of entry, that's why it's a bit more civilized. Most people already have a reddit account (At least gamers or PC enthusiasts), whilst I doubt same can be said about the OCuk forums.

Does anyone know how long the queue currently is for ROG-STRIX-RTX3080-O10G-GAMING ?

I''m currently in the queue, not sure how long it is but this might help you with movement...

2/10/20 - position 907 (ordered)
14/10/20 - position 804
23/10/20 - position 775
28/10/20 - position 745

Not really no, many might have been blinded by the false promises that “OCUK have special relationships with Nvidia/AMD and suppliers” which have turned out to be complete lies and falsehoods, especially when you see how many competitors are shipping, some are even having a surplus to move other que members onto that card

Every store representative says something like that, that doesn't mean I am forced to buy based on that. Now it's been 1 month and half, you saw what's happening, and if you still order now and you are at the end of the queue, that's your choice friend, the store didn't force you to buy from them, and this is not only about this store, it's every store everywhere, you choose to give them your money, you could have kept them looking somewhere else, freedom of choice. How am I going to tell you that you should cancel when you did it knowingly, that's on you. Yes, nothing is black and white and not every one is on the forum. But there's also nothing on the store that gave me the bragging phrase of we have good relationship with Nvidia, and if there is please show me, I'm willing to learn from mistakes. Now for new buyers, yes the site can improve and add a warning, the queue is large or long delivery times from manufacturer, please be aware when you proceed. But in the end, we all make our choices, and I shouldn't tell you what to do or you tell me what to do unless requested.

That it just astonishing! Who in their right mind would pay £461 for a 2070 super FE ?

Just shows what this ridiculous stock situation is doing to people.

I did saw people buying into that, and paying that much. There was a time I would have advised against it. But experience taught me not to to it anymore. Hell I saw people buying 1080 for same price. their fault if they are jumping straight to buying it without researching 5 minutes
