You sure this is UK?
I know US sent a blanket email to everyone saying they may not get the console on launch - basically an arse-covering exercise.
Australia apparently also sent out emails over the weekend informing some customers may have to wait.
Not heard of any UK customers receiving any delay emails yet.
No email here yet.

edit just checked and my delivery date is still November 19th

I have a pre-order for the console but have not ordered any games yet:

I will get assassins creed Valhalla, just wondering on the release date, seems that places are saying it releases on the 12th ahead of the ps5 release? so if i order the game will you get them before the consoles? or is that earlier date just a placeholder?

I spoke to the guys in my local GAME and they've told me the games are being released on the 12th to pick up/purchase.

Going to be a looong week having a few games sitting there without the console to play them!

Release date is the 12th for Valhalla - even PS5 cased version. Yes, it does seem kinda pointless to have the game a week early but it was put in place to help retailers get the consoles out on release day rather than worrying about accessories and games coming the same day.

The demand for PS5 has been unprecedented. Initial PS5 pre-order figures in the US were more than the total amount of PS4's sold in its first 12 weeks. https://www.thesixthaxis.com/2020/10/27/ps5-preorder-sales-higher-than-ps4/ measures for the console getting to people on time had to be put in place and that meant moving accessories and games due out the same day.

Im really suprised that demon souls doesn't support ray tracing at all..
This is the problem with people dissecting every single scrap of information out there. I blame Reddit.

The original translated quote said:

When we started development we didn't know there would be ray tracing in the game, so it wasn't in our original vision. What we wanted to focus on was the settings and the look of the characters. Everything is lighting in real time with shadows in real time

And from the same person (Gavin Moore, Creative director)

Another word we’ve heard hundreds of times is ray tracing. Are we going to notice it so much? Lighting is a key element in Demon’s Souls.
Indeed, one of the novelties is ray tracing, now you will see more realistically when lightning hits a tree and sets it on fire. That is brand new and never existed in the original. Now we can do it because we have all that power with PS5. It’s great.

Demon’s Souls for PlayStation 3 is an incredibly dark game. What we have done is, after evaluating the power of the PlayStation 5, we realize that we no longer had to activate or deactivate any light source, but we have been able to include light in real time thanks to ray tracing. So every aspect of the game lighting is in real time. It is dynamic. We have used the lighting as a way to guide the player through the levels, as little hints of where to go.

So, does it, doesn't it? Does it really matter if it looks amazing regardless?

IMO RT is fantastic, I was massively impressed with the RTX demos on my PC, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice FPS or perhaps other graphical things for it.

While RT may look fantastic, and would be nice to have in most games ... I’d still choose 60fps mode over 30fps+RT personally.

For me would depend on the game, if it was a game like Uncharted for example then it would work really well when exploring caves etc. I wonder if there will be/is a method to enable it in certain parts and not others, then again the fps drop from 60-30 may be too jarring to warrant it.

It's massively costly. These new machines are going to be great but they're not high end PC's and never will be. Bluepoint are an incredibly talented bunch and from what I've seen so far this game is going to be something special. Developers will no doubt come up with clever ways to implement these graphic options later on in the consoles lifetime, just like they always do.

Yeah I'm resigned to the fact that RT is something I'll enjoy on my new PC next Jan and that's ok!

Wonder if they will add some RT and a 60fps mode to uncharted 4? That would look insanely good.

Yeah it would, it's a shame I've gone off the series though, it peaked at 2 for me but I had to almost force myself through the others. I'd love a game like Uncharted but focuses more on the exploring and puzzles than combat.

Got an email from Game asking me to update my payment details as card is about to expire... card on the site expires in 2025 as updated it a while back!

Hope they don't mess up the order :eek::(

Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy look stunning on my OLED on an OG PS4. I would love an update it would look incredible.

I'm getting serious FOMO because I don't have an OLED. I have a decent tv for gaming (KS7000) but there is that constant nagging thing going on whenever I see OLED mentioned or the Q90 tvs.
I only got the current TV as I wanted to use HDR and 4k for the PS4 Pro.
