I’m hoping people aren’t going to buy the digital edition just for the sake of having a PS5. Hopefully there will be enough of those around for the people who really don’t want the disc drive.

Given how traumatic this year has been I suspect there will be many who buy whichever console they can get their hands on, and may even resort to buying from scalpers on eBay.

Just read that Germany might start shipping PS5’s early and in line with the US.
Fingers crossed for the UK :)

Another scam email methinks.

Ignore that, I don’t think it’s confirmed day one.

I think that ship has sailed looong ago, if you don't have a pre-order now, you're not getting one on launch day. Maybe if you camp at a supermarket, but I don't think a £450 games console would count as 'essential shopping' :D

Yeah probably, I missed the point when it said the German retailer, Media Markt, had contacted customers. I thought it had just stated that it would to media outlets :(
So just another impersonator I guess!

I keep hoping they’ll ship earlier and stop the artificial staging/gating for us.

I got excited, then see it wasn’t guaranteed day one :D:D

Some information from an Interview with Cerney & Brian Horton https://www.washingtonpost.com/grap...release-games-features/?utm_source=reddit.com

Take “Spider-Man.” The first game was Sony’s best-selling PS4 exclusive. Why not double down? “The web-swing is key to Spider-Man,” says Horton. “And because the triggers [of the PS5 controller] have that resistance, you actually feel when the web shoots out, you feel it connect to the wall and you feel resistance on the trigger as you go through the arc of the swing. So all of these haptic feedbacks and the resistance on the triggers has added another level immersion.”

Glad I double checked my order page on Game, had to update payment details on the actual order rather than the payment methods section.

*phew*, may have lost the pre-order if I hadn't checked again!

Feel like I'm the only person who pre-ordered one via amazon and I ordered it the second it came available.

I lucked out on a currys pre order, all paid for and just waiting for release date now. I'd given up trying to get one for launch but randomly checked currys when they announced more stock and got one with no issues!

So, apparently Demon's Souls has 180 videos built into it which you can access through the activity cards from within the game, if you get stuck.

And every single one of them says:

Get good.

:p:D

It would be amazing if the system detected that you'd died 24 times in a row in one section and a clippy style prompt came up saying:

It looks like you're having issues beating this boss, would you like help with that?

Decisions decisions...

I have two orders - one on amazon for delivery and one on Smyths for click and collect but as click and collect pre-orders has been confirmed to be OK during the impending lockdown by Smyths email - do I cancel the Amazon order and pick my console up in person? Thoughts?
