The PlayStation blog has some new PS5-specific info on RE8/Village;

  • Stunning visuals: Explore Resident Evil Village's beautiful yet terrifying vistas and locales in 4K with Ray Tracing.
  • Fast loading: Instantly pick up right where you left off with almost no load times, thanks to the power of the PS5 console's ultra-high speed SSD.
  • Adaptive triggers: Feel the weight and pull of weapon triggers for an even more immersive experience.
  • Haptic feedback: Simulate the feeling of firing a real gun with haptic feedback.
  • Tempest 3D AudioTech on compatible headphones: Surround yourself with the carefully crafted music and sounds of survival horror in Resident Evil Village. 3D Audio enhances the experience by making you feel the hair-raising sounds coming from every direction.
Really looking forward to the next one, I loved 7 and loved both recent remakes

Glad to hear 8 will make use of PS5 features

I’m very wary of anyone who’s so against their conversations possibly being heard by another company.

I just don’t get what the big deal is. Surveillance is everywhere nowadays. Every single phone call we make can be listened to by other agencies or the like. We live in that kind of world now. As long as you ain’t up to no good, there’s nothing to worry about. Just deal with it.

Has anyone with a Smyths Toys Click and Collect order not have their Payment info saved on their account? My order is in the Order History but if I go to Payment Details it states there is no saved payment details? :confused::confused:. Is this normal? Do the payment details stay on file after Smyths have taken the money? In the email released the other day it says the order is pre-authorised against the payment card so assume everything is OK?

I have sent a webnote in to Smyths CS asking but a few friends tell me their online presence is quite poor in that respect.

I wouldn't expect any payments for PS5s to be taken for at least another week. Xbox folk are only now having funds pre-authorised for withdrawal. PS5 comes out 9 days later. Just chill out.

I wonder how the upgrade works for PS4 games to PS5. I've read on their site you just go to the games hub and choose "upgrade" etc. But... will I have to download the game again or will it use the game files from the PS4 version of the game and just update them that way.

I have Sackboy, Cold War and Dirt 4 downloading on PS4 before I get my PS5... I'm guessing the "upgrade" will just unlock a PS5 version of the game and will need to be re-downloaded again.

I suppose you could move them to an external drive from the PS4 then plug that into the PS5 and upgrade them that way. PS4 games will run from an external but I don't know what happens to them if an upgrade is installed. Are they still PS4 games? My guess would be yes, but I could be wrong. Personally, I will just download them again. I want everything running off the SSD for improved loading, anyway.

My plan is to install Miles Morales and download/install the remaster of Spider-Man. Then install Demon's Souls. Hopefully Apex Legends will come out at launch as well so I'll be grabbing that. Maybe No Man's Sky as well for the 4K update.

I have to 'work' from home for the next 4 weeks but basically I just have a few bits to read that don't even take up one 8h day as I am not in a position to do the actual job yet. Hmmm, I wonder what I could do to pass the time in a couple of weeks.

I've been working from home since the end of March. Had a 10 week furlough period in there, too. Back full time since June 1st. I am loving it, actually. Work is really busy, so I don't have much time to do recreational things. I am taking 19th-20th off as I have too many holiday days left to take this year.

I know they would take it a few days before, it's just I have an order open on Amazon as well and would rather cancel that knowing I can pick it up in person first thing on release - but not seeing payment info stored on my Smyths account isn't filling me with confidence. I will pop into the store tonight on the way home and get them to check its OK.
