You should have been going faster.

Police cars here are only factory tuned. If you can do better than 180K, they can't catch you. So they don't even try.
You need to get rid of the TDI badge if you want to be taken seriously in a McDonalds carpark.
How clean is your license? How important is driving to your job?
Expect to be taken to court if they did actually catch you. At court you presented your case of why you need to keep your license (work/family etc).

Yes, because driving at 120 equates to being fun at parties.
Why get worked up over someone who chooses to ignore a frankly archaic speed limit. It’s their license not yours.
It's up to the courts to decide the punishment based on the circumstances. But I reckon a judge might agree that doing 120MPH in the dead of night, in a car designed for high speed driving on a road designed with high speeds in mind, probably isn't inherently that dangerous, nor the the actions of the sort of criminal that prisons were built for.
So destroying his life by incarcerating him for what could have been stupid and rash mistake which he might already be remorseful for, would be a bit silly, and a driving ban would be sufficient.
Had he been doing it in the height of rush hour while three sheets to the wind, then that might be different. But that's why we have court summons, to determine the appropriate punishment.
I'm not worked up, I voiced an opinion like everyone else in this thread.
