120 on M25

I went well off the clock in my old modded SX, just as i did there were some sparkly lights and i then found i was driving in a field and knocked over a scarecrow..

Not doing that again.

M25 is constantly busy most cameras are live 24\7 so I suspect it will be a ban & court appearance. What gets me is I often see cars go through the speed cams way above 70 the drivers are either blind, nuts or both

There's your problem, cars are perfectly safe as long as you can read the numbers on the Speedo. Scientificly proven:).

Whilst I doubt this is a real new account I may as well reply...

How long have you held your license?

Hopefully, not long so you can take a retest to get it back.

As said, 120MPH isn’t wise on any stretch of motorway especially late at night most certainly not the M25, a road I’ve witnessed a fair few accidents caused by excrement heads traveling way to fast for the conditions.

Unless you’ve had your licence for less than 2 years or have other points, you won’t lose it. Plead guilty at the earliest opportunity, if you’re lucky you’ll get 6 points, if not then you’ll get a short ban.

I thought it was 180? lol
The Audi A4 2.0 TDI is statted to only reach 127, though.

I reckon a judge might agree that doing 120MPH in the dead of night, in a car designed for high speed driving on a road designed with high speeds in mind, probably isn't inherently that dangerous
While I'm told motorways are (supposedly) designed for speeds up to 230, I wouldn't say that car is designed for high speed driving... :D

I see that every time I occasionally use the M25, when the 50mph limit is in force everyone else just blasts through at 70mph. I just do 50, while being acutely aware that I'm not keeping up with the flow and blending in.

Ban, suspended sentence, community service. Unless the judge is in a bad mood then lube up in anticipation of sharing a cell with Bubba.
Speeding is bad m'kay.

That aspect isn't to be underestimated... complete luck of the draw it seems. I remember back when I was a teenager my mate's dad was a magistrate - he liked his cars and was telling us that he'd always be lenient on drivers when you get stuff like an empty motorway etc.. But (granted he was a bit conservative) he was adamant that female magistrates inevitably push to go harsher on the driver.

I suspect that for 120 though OP... you're a bit ****ed... bye bye license for a bit at least... possible scrubbing some graffitti down in your local area or whatever else if you get a (perhaps female) magistrate who takes a dim view of it all.

My first and only speeding ticket (SP50) was speeding on the M25 close to 20 years ago.

Caught doing 123MPH by an undercover cop car (Saab 9-5 Areo)

I’m sure it’s changed since, but at the time he explained to me that usually anything over 96MPH is a ban however it is down to the officers discretion.

As it turns out, I knew the guy from school so at his discretion, he let me off with 3 points and a £60 fine.

Lesson learned!

Fast ship? You've not heard of the Millennium Falcon? It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.

Prison time with any luck.
Wow. Calm down.

Won't get prison time for 110 - 120 on a straight and open stretch of road. 150+ perhaps.

I will if I feel like it.

IMO >100 they should just crush the car

:)

Having [only thought about officer] exceeding 100 in a classic car with sentimental value, ouch. :(

Again, no. Calm down! :D

I've usually cruised around 80-85mph when the camera's were not active and never had a problem. However, i have seen some people fly past 90+ and the camera's didnt flash.

Were the gantries set to a lower speed limit? I think you're probably alright if not. I have been flashed quite a few times on the M25 and never heard anything of it. Although admittedly I was doing legal speeds the majority of the time.
