8k is on the box, so they have to consider it high priority for that reason alone...

Also, TV's will eventually be more common in 8k, just like 4k has become fairly common over Full HD. 1440p is a strange PC resolution that no-one really uses*

*according to Sony...

Does anyone know if you will be able to activate the PS5 as your primary device, if the PS4 you have isn't the primary device?

Or is it seen as a brand new console-type and not related to PSN?

I don't think the PS5 does the 'primary device' thing any more.

You can have a PS5 up with sharing alongside a Primary PS4.

Thanks, reason I ask is pretty sure someone managed to access my PSN a few months ago and make their PS4 the primary, I cannot change it back (at least for another 4 months)

Was just concerned I may not be able to use the PS5! So should be good. Hopefully.

I'm really confused. So Miles Morales is the launch game to get which is fair enough.

But what is the point of getting the PS5 version which costs more when the PS4 edition automatically upgrades when you put it into a PS5

They're both £50 (or a few quid under) everywhere I've seen? If you mean the ultimate edition vs the Std edition (ultimate edition isn't on PS4) it's because it also includes Spiderman - Remastered for the extra £20.

Not sure why people seem to think 1440p is so prevalent outside of pc monitor market.

Newsflash.

It isnt.

Mine was for the disc version so could be that they have not got stock of the digital version yet. Typing in the tracking info into DPD says it does not exist as of yet.

My order says the same when tracking through dpd. Although I did also order a extra controller which is being sent my royal mail and the order says it has been delivered...I put this down to it leaving the distribution center and in the royal mail system maybe.

I mean the standard edition is cheaper on the PS4 than it is for the PS5, admittedly it's only a few £ but still doesn't make sense buying one over the other really.

It's very nice to have as you can have 1440p120 on a TV without needing HDMI 2.1, and at 120 fps most games will not be running at 4K making 4K120 a completely pointless reason to upgrade for most people.

If you care about having a decent frame rate (which is far more important that the jump from 1440p to 4K) then it matters.

What do you think of the odds of getting some of the new stock on the 19th? My sisters wee one (12 years old) wants one for Christmas but of course only decided this in Oct. All she plays is fifa on the xbox!

Failing that could I even get a PS4 these days?
