RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

Yeah, ordered a 5900X (along with free mask and thermal paste) at 2:07pm, currently in queue position 436.
Its amazing to think I have 1820 GBP of pre-ordered items (5900X, 3080 TUF non-oc, and HP Reverb G2) and I have no clear dates for any of them arriving! lol Go 2020!

Same site, 5900x added to basket at 14:00 managed to checkout at 14:16 and I'm 1319 in the queue. This was worse than the 3080 launch, there's been no stock at any UK retailers since. There was a gigabyte aurus master 3080 at another competitor this morning but just couldn't justify paying £960 for that.

Fair points.
Is vram directly comparable though? Are you saying an 11gb 1080ti will run Watch Dogs better than a 10gb 3080?

I speculate that on 3080 you would just drop textures level down by 1 and it would be fine. Maybe on 1080Ti 11GB you wouldn't have to do that but game would obviously run a lot worse as it's 2 generations difference between those GPU.
Thing is, you would probably feel OK with tuning down settings on a card that is few years old. Would you feel the same if you had to do it on a brand new 3080 you just bought week ago ?
Whatever the future is, I think it was a silly move from nvidia to not put at least 12GB (if they're too stingy for 16).
I recommend that video if you want to find out more about 30xx vs previous generations:

Thanks, will have a look after work.

If I'm honest, I'm a fps junkie. I regularly run games at lower than max, to make it easier to spot players etc. So whilst I fully get your point, for me, I only ever max out single player games. And of those, very few keep me interested for long before I want to shoot someone in the face

Nov 5, 3:11 PM, Order received.

Nov 6th got an email to say queue position 264 for 5900x

Dont understand how you guys are so far behind in queue when I orderd an hour late xD

I think most ordered elsewhere due to the site crashing again here and it was £30 cheaper.

Same here - I thought I was bad with queue position 739 but I didn't order until 21:50 with order confirmation email at 22:00! Seems some people who ordered early got pushed to the back of the line...

I got mine just now for 5900X. Competitor order with mask and thermal paste. Order confirmation - Thu, 5 Nov, 14:11. Queue # 766
Oh my goodness I mean that puts it in perspective....

I'd suggest at this point even if Ryzen 5000 doesn't turn out to be a paper launch that UK stock allocation was far too low I mean that's not selling out in 10mins is it.

Maybe OcUK could start a business line renting out Zen2 series whilst we wait? :)

5900x, mask and paste confirmed at 14:07 and now number 326 in the queue. It could have been far worse but also could have been a lot quicker if I hadn’t wasted time on OcUK first. Lesson learned for the future though.

While both were bad wasn't the 3080 stock effectively in double digits? AMD at least shipped a few thousand to the UK and there's a good chunk of stock due in between now and the 20th.

Compare that to the 3080 where I doubt I'll be able to get the card I want this year, it might work out in the end for me, hopefully the 6000 series makes the 3080 redundant.

Yep I was banned on Friday too.
However, I’ve now served my time. I’m a Reformed man and ready to be re-introduced to forum society.
Truth be told, I do partly blame @WesleyBurns as I quoted one of his posts as well as mentioned the name of a town in England. :p
Stay safe people!

All part of the fun. Did my time ban lifted Saturday. Think it was my first time in 14 years. Been helping out on the Dell S2721DGF thread giving back to society.

I placed an order at 14:44:00 5th Nov and got an email on the following day at 12:30pm that I'm in queue position 77

The only explanation I can give for such randomly allocated queue positions is that they wrote some software to do it automatically based on the timestamp when orders are placed. However giving the short period of time for writing it, it turned out to crash and have lots of bugs. So any orders without queue number get processed manually, effectively when you have a system malfunctioning like that manual corrections take too much time and won't be accurate.

cancelled my pre-order on the 5950x, found a competitor and will recieve my order by the 8th December, i pre-oredered on the 8th so chances are i'll be waiting into 2021
