If we order them on the 5th, when would delivery be you reckon?

If product is on shelf and in stock in ample volume and you select DPD Next Day service due to it been late in the day then expect delivery the following Monday as 5pm is a little too late to guarantee a next day delivery on a day the warehouse will be extremely busy. Alternatively, you can select DPD Saturday delivery and again as long as ample stock it would be delivered Saturday.

So teh story of the 5900X so far:
First @Gibbo told us 300PC's of 5900X coming first week
then pushed to the 24th
told in interim 85pc of 5900x were ordered from grey market
now we are told earliest we get just 200 not 385pc is December

this is really starting to stink like the people at OCUK don't know what is going on with their logistics partners.

We know exactly what is going on.

Those first 300pc got delayed by AMD, they have been delayed again and are coming from a master distributor, why the date keeps slipping is unknown.

These 200pc are from another master disti and have shipped from that warehouse today and will arrive in our warehouse tomorrow and have a scheduled booking in slot next week which warehouse will pull forward if they can.

So far we have already had 199 units arrive and get shipped out, this includes launch volume.

Right now we have 1066 orders outstanding to ship with 200 due next week, were still owed the 300 which the dates keep slipping on and 85 units are still due to arrive this week / next week on grey product.

As such based on the 200 + 85 we know have shipped that will mean we have shipped just shy of 500 units to our customers, probably better than any competitor can say, when those 300 owed land, that will be near 800. :)

If shipments slip or get delayed that is totally out of our control, both ourselves and the distributors are at the mercy of AMD.

We have also shipped 189pc of 5950X to date, we have another just shy of 100 units due next week and only have 205 orders outstanding on those.
So by end of next week we would have shipped nearly 300 units of 5950X, quite a large numbers compared to competitors, some competitors have still had zero stock.

5800X we shipped 186 units so far and 145 units of 5600X, we are still waiting for updates on shipments for these parts.

Because every time there's been a update the gap between now and when they are 'due' seems to grow, I half expect an update at the end of December to say "no stock but 4000 due at end of February".

ETAs can of course slip, but these are confirmed allocations so should all be good, let us hope the ETAs move forward rather than shipping.

I also believe OcUK has shipped the most 5950X in the UK so far as we should exceed 300 plus shipped today, OcUK is doing a remarkable job at obtaining these processors, it also helps we are willing to buy grey and make a loss on them too, as what is most important to us is clearing down the backlog as quickly as we can even if that means we take a hit.

What happened to the 85 units of 5900x that were on order @Gibbo?

I thought you had 200 + 85 coming in for this week? I was ~235th in queue and haven't heard anything.

Where did I post or say this?

My only post regarding 5900X is 200pc incoming which arrived though I think around 30 units were missing which warehouse is investigating, not sure what this additional 85 is but is possible the numbers have got mixed up along the way.

Outstanding is:
300 from launch, yes still overdue
844 due end of December
30 units possibly due this week but unconfirmed
55 units grey stock, so maybe with the above is the 85 your thinking, but I do not recall posting that info on the forum.

i think the confusion has come from the fact that last week you said 200 units coming this week. From what you've now described those 200 units came end of last week (early) and therefore a lot of people (myself included) thought there were still 200 due this week. Just a slight confusion based on this that you have now cleared up. Hopefully those backorders will arrive soon.

Yes the 200 order landed, so some units are missing, the 85 has not yet arrived yet, with no updates.

Okay, so to clarify, the 85 units have been dispatched from a supplier? Are they in the UK? Was there any estimated shipping time? I'm confused as to why these were forgotten about.

Things are easy to get confusing when your managing several product launches, several product lines and the warehouses and couriers all around the world are maxed out.

The 85 units are incoming to us, but there is no further ETA other then they are still shipping and more information is not forthcoming, I suspect it is simply because the suppliers are basically way to busy to be chasing down orders and will simply say they are on the way, wait and be patient because like all previous deliveries they eventually turn up. Don't think some of you quite realise the situation the whole world is in right now, the whole supply chain is working at 120% and as much as you may not like it, the staff at these companies do not have time to micro manage everything.

So the 85 will turn up, when well that could be this week or end of the month.
The good news is the 300 we have been waiting for since launch that were promised but ETAs kept slipping have finally arrived at master distributor and should ship in the next day or two and will then arrive with us end of this week / early next week.

As much as the news given today by Gibbo is welcome and I really appreciate it I am still confused. Gibbo said that he has sourced some (15) grey market 5800x, due for arrival around the 14th. By which time a competitor is expecting to have had 300 delivered and be preparing to receive another 600.
Why is there such a vast difference in supply from one vendor to another? Surely their suppliers are the same? There can't be that many distis for 5000 series chips?

AMD are drop shipping, will be how they are working out the schedule and I imagine they have thousands are huge palit shipments to sort out throughout the world and it simply is what it is.
The logistics for shipping thousands of processors to thousands of customers worldwide will not be something that happens all in one day, it takes weeks.

The 300 units of 5900X that were massively overdue and we have being waiting for since launch finally arrived this week and were booked in today, all being well the warehouse will start shipping those 300pc 5900X orders tomorrow and over the weekend.

Any further news on this? 'Due to land around 14th December' i.e. should be arriving at OCUK some time this week?

@Gibbo

The grey stock varies massively on how long it takes to arrive unfortunately, so we are still waiting to receive, at the current rate the large volumes of official stock may arrive sooner.

Anyone know if there will be an opportunity to join a 'new' queue once the current pre-orders clear, or will it be a case of getting lucky and being online during the few minutes between the arriving stock being released and it selling out again?

We are presently not taking orders I am afraid.

Once we have stock piled enough CPU's we will re-open ordering on them but it will probably be after Christmas now.

@ScottiB is there any news on that delivery of 5800x that was supposed to be in before christmas? I saw in Gibbo's thread that the 5600x and 5900x deliveries arrived...

5800X still did not arrive from official supplier.
But we do have 69pc due by end of this week from none official suppliers, and hopefully the 1000+ will arrive at any moment also as they are quite over due.

There are plenty of examples out there of people ordering stuff saying +10 in stock only to find out once they have paid for the item it mysteriously goes to 'out of stock'

Main competitors of OC have the 5600x in stock now for £10 cheaper and without the wait for delivery or having to second guess OC's stock system...

We have 1000+ in stock on 5600X and its never being out of stock since after December 21st. :)

what's the story on the 5900X atm no one seems to have them?

We had a large volume arrive today which has cleared all back orders and though we had a hundred plus spare the 100 sold in around ten minutes, 5900X demand is totally crazy, but anyone pre-ordering now will be at the top of the queue and should get one in the next week or two as were seeing regular deliveries now.

What’s the warehouse delay like at the moment? Understand things are probably difficult with Covid but if we had a back order what kind of turn around on when it might get shipped are we expecting?

Orders are delayed by around 3 days at the moment.
Normally the Christmas break is busy but things normally calm down from the Black Friday rush, however during the Christmas break people were still buying like it was close to peak Black Friday business levels, as such we took around 10,000 orders over the Christmas break and business shows no signs of slowing, still totally crazy.

Warehouse are catching up fast but based on amount orders on system at present (4000) I'd say anyone ordering in stock items today will get their package by end of this week possibly or early next week.
