Weirdly close UK pricing of rx 6800 and rtx 3080 FE

Loads of FE cards on owners thread. 3080 MRSP is indeed £650.
seems a lot(well some) of people have been able to pick them up since they were moved from the nvidia store to the other place. I think the other place seems to be moving a lot more cards in general.

You'll never get a 3080 for £649.
Maybe not now (other than the FE), but plenty of people bought other cards on launch day for £649. I know I did. Received my Ventus on Friday and very happy with it. I prefer it over the FE to be honest, as the cooler design of the FE won't work well with my case layout.

No doubt being chosen by Nvidia as the official distributor of FE cards comes with other perks.

They don't, it's always out of stock there. A place in Bolton is selling and distributing the 3080 FEs, anothe well know retailer. Anyone who just looks at Nvidia store would miss them.

My cousin got one on Friday from there.

Admittedly he had to set up a script to catch one, but still.

Not true - they show in stock on the NV website and then you get re-directed to bolton

Rx 6800 will be priced at around £550, rtx 3080 FE is priced at £650.

The price gap between amd's lowest end Navi 21 GPU and NV's high end is just £100.

Is this purely because amd knows there wont be sufficient rtx 3080 (and 3070) stock, so they can charge more?
you're obviously new to OverClockers the chances of getting anything at MRRP is virtually nil.

It's supply and demand. The RRP is what they should be sold for and will be when stock is plenty.

For now though with stock in short supply sites like this stick it to us. There is no loyalty when it comes to profit, but loyalty is a two way street, just remember that the next time you need to make a high value purchase.

I've got no excuse :D . I just refuse to pay more for something because there is insufficient supply, so I will wait.

I'd rather buy direct if possible from AMD or NV, you generally get a better deal.
