£495 for the digital with 4 games and £692 for the standard. That comes with extra dual sense, PS5 camera and three games.

Bit crappy of them. Especially as they are saying Astro's playroom is one of the inc games.

Yes it's a ps4 release of a ps2 game. I checked the product page and it says "To play this game on PS5, your system may need to be updated to the latest system software. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent. See PlayStation.com/bc for more details." so should be good.

To me all these online stores should really move to subscription based models. The idea of paying a one off charge to "buy" digital media you never actually own and have no rights/control over is ridiculous IMO. I'm surprised so many tolerate the concept.

I suspect within a few years all the consoles will move to a game pass subscription service business model. Something essentially like Spotify/Netflix but for gaming. Maybe with higher priced tiers to get early access to the latest games.

The challenge these days is that many games require online access for gameplay/updates/etc so even if you buy the disc the games is still essentially dependent on an online service with servers/etc being available to run it.

Anyone get notification from currys yet? Preordered within the first hour and paid straight away when they asked.

Will be a bit worried if I dont hear anything on Monday.
 
Got a payment notice from Amazon and got excited then spotted it was the M.2 I had over on a payment plan :(

Just had a nosey at the PS+ games collection quite a few titles I have missed so happy days. Might just pick up 1 of Demon souls or spider man to have a true next gen game.
 
I need some help on my game choices...

The main game I was looking at was Godfall but now disappointed by the reviews...

2nd game I’m getting is COD.

I was looking at Demon Souls but not sure. I have played this on ps3.

so do I just play COD or still get dark souls ? I need to go back and look at the other launch titles

I really hope that there is a black version of the PS5 released next year when I would consider buying a PS5, because white is the most god-awful colour for any large electronics device. White is bright, white attracts the eye, white sticks out with a sore thumb next to all of your black AV components... hell it doesn't even blend with silver stuff. White controllers can also stain and look more dirty over time. White just sucks as a sole design choice for a console... give me a black option Sony... pretty please. :(:o

Emails came out on the 22nd October and give you 28 days to complete the order.

Personally I'm gonna get COD and Demon's Souls but I haven't played the PS3 original much so it'll be new to me .

Sackboy looks like it could be fun but the multiplayer is coming as a patch at a later date and I don't see the point in playing the game without it.

None of the other launch titles really interest me.

You could look at Spiderman MM, which is the other big launch exclusive, but I wasn't a fan of the first personally so may not bother with it unless I see it discounted in future.

I'm certain we'll see Sony release black side panels for the console. However, what I really want is side panels (and a matching controller) in the original retro Playstation 1 grey with the original PS logo. That'd look epic IMO :cool:

I reckon we might we Sony release combo packs with both a controller and side panels in various colours. That way you can literally change the style of your entire setup to match!

Lets be honest ... it's not going to be until the middle of next year, at the earliest, before any proper "next gen" titles or exclusives become available. Demon's Souls is a must buy for some players, but I would consider it a niche game. Whilst Miles Morales will be fun for a few hours it is basically a glorified tech demo, and can be played on the PS4/Pro.

Buying a PS5 now only makes sense if you just want to play the back catalog of PS4 exclusives with better load times / graphical enhancements etc. Is there anything from the PS4 generation that you missed that catches your eye ?

I agree with that to some degree. Since PS4/XB1 the launch lineup of new systems has become a very "cross gen" affair where most games are available on both old and new platforms. Obviously they'll look nicer and load faster on the new systems, with some minor new features, but they'll essentially be the same games.

Those that have ordered from Smyths, what stage are you at?

Have they taken payment? You got a tracking email?

My mate is getting alittle concerned, they haven't taken payment yet or sent any tracking info etc.
