2070 Super - Fan Curve

Never created a fan-curve in afterburner, but noticed that on my 2070 super, the fans will spin up briefly as it hits 30 degrees , it cools down, they stop , and after a while , repeat.

Fans are off by default ("Zero Frozr") , So was advised to create a custom fan-curve to keep them spinning all the time and therefore make it less noticeable...

How does this look ? I want to make sure i'm not at risk of overheating due to my own curve...

Looks alright. I tend to set the minimum fan speed based on what I deem to be audibly acceptable so you've always got a decent amount of fan even when on low usage. You can tweak as needed for the rest, just need to monitor temps as you game, or run a benchmark for while like unigine. You won't do any damage, it'll just throttle back if not enough cooling.

Thanks , Might set it a bit higher, Have been running it at 38% And it's not noticeable.... If i'm gaming i full expect it to go up, just wanted to stop it whilst idle.

Yes it's not uncommon to have the fan running at 25% from zero to a few degrees above your normal idle temperature then you ramp them up so they are at a level you find tolerable at the temperature you want. Depending on the fan it may not even run at all below 25%. So say ( just example ) a straight line from 25% at 40 degrees to 90% at 70 degrees. But you can choose your own limits. The main thing is to have it at say 100% at danger levels like 80 or 90 degrees. Tweak it until you are happy. It doesn't need to be too complicated I mean I find a few points is all you need.

If you can have the fan off when the GPU is idle, then you may find that some cards will rev the fan when it first switches on. This is safety thing to ensure the fan does actually start but you will want to stop it revving all the time. Good idea to set the hysteresis to say 5 degrees. In that way when the fan turns on it will not turn off again until the temperature has been lowered five degrees. It stops it revving too often.

Definitely noticed the revving up between speed changes. Even with it set in afterburner and applied, I still notice a change in pitch occasionally (Even though afterburner shows the same speed) but it is less noticeable.

I've got afterburner set to start on startup , but it doesn't apply the profile I've setup , I have to set it each time, any ideas on getting afterburner to do this?

The config file is in Program Files so it is possible it is not writing it. Perhaps it does not have the rights. I don't know, have you tried uninstalling then installing again but this time running the installer with admin rights?
