Hey guys, will be building new CPU so wanted to see if there are possible cons which I don't know already, going from i7 4770k to:
  • I9 10850K (no PCIe 4.0, Rocket Lake behind the corner)
  • Asus Z490 TUF (no PCIe 4.0, no WIFI, no 2.5 GB LAN, simpler Audio chip, no AI overclock in BIOS, when using both m2 slots only 4 Sata ports usable, I think?)
  • Corsair 16GB KIT DDR4 3600MHz CL18 PC4-28800, CL18-22-22-42 (no cons, not sure about compatibility though)
Is 12/2 enough for i9 on this board? I will try 5.0 overclock, but, I want to keep cost as low as possible and can't stretch it anymore I have already stretched it by choosing i9 over i7. I am however temped to buy a version with WIFI for MBU, which I assume has Bluetooth for 20€ more.

For the ram, need to check is it compatible somehow.

Anyway, please share your kind opinion is there anything better, but without adding cost, I do not want AMD and I want only Intel and Asus, please no brand wars, it's a personal decision : )

I have already: Noctua NH-D15 Black, RTX 3080 TUF, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB, SS Strider Plus 850W, CM Storm Enforcer, SSD 850 Pro 512GB, WD Black 1TB + 2TB, WD Blue 2TB.

Any problems or compatibility issues or similar or smart advice? Or something I have missed. Please feel to share your kind opinion.

Thanks.

Looks like you've got things covered, if you want to check memmory compatibility check the qvl list on the Asus website for your motherboard .

Mite as well get Wi-Fi for £20 more.

Reviews seem good which you should check before you buy.

Thanks, need to just check few things and dig a bit more, like is the NH-D15 compatible, to avoid ram or especially GPU issues with covering PCIe, need to check is my PSU alright for this is it on the list and I guess RAM compatibility.
Thanks once again.

Psu is fine and 850w is enough .

NH-D15 wont cover the gpu slot and gives 64mm clearance for tall memory heatsinks in single fan mode, In dual fan mode RAM up to 32mm.
