MSI RTX 3080 GAMING TRIO is underperforming

Run CPUID, then run a game.

Exit the game after playing and look at the bottom of CPUID to see if the Power limit\Temp limit\Reliable Voltage limit\operational voltage limit and Utilization linit
Has 1 to the right side. If it has then that's your problem.

It's happening to me with my MSI RTX3090 VENTUS 3X.
 
This really just seems to be an msi issue from all the threads ive been reading including my own case, just over 15000 gpu score on 3d mark when others are getting 17-19k scores.

edit - my card performs under an rtx 3070
 
It's because MSI gave most of the 3080\3090 are only 350W
So you hit all the limits in games fast.
 
I have a MSI ventus and see relatively similar results. If you have msi afterburner or some other monitoring tool you will be able to see the card is constantly power limited

I will be flashing the 3090 Gigabyte gaming OC bios on my card(Msi 3090) if MSI don't play ball and give me a 400W bios

did you try another game other than warzone?

Can you please tell us your experience after trying it? I thought about it but I am hesitant to be honest since it's not from MSI.
 
I would suggest anybody who's facing performance problem to use the automatic tuning feature of Geforce Experience.
The result is still not like what I can see on the internet, but the performance is improved by a good margin
 
Just to check people have “prefer performance” selected in the global setting within the Nvidia display panel?

I’ve got MSI 3080 Trio and 5900x and have scored just over 19k for GPU with an overclock and 18k overall score in time spy, I’ll check what it scores at on default settings.

every game runs awful, i cant even hit 60fps on gta v ultra, ive seen 4k benchmarks hit higher lmfao, honestly either my card is doomed or my whole pc is a joke

so totally standard fan curve and no OC gives me Graphics score of 17846 on time spy
