Nvidia looks like it will be competitive at the low-mid end with the RTX 3070 and 3060 TI

Both these cards are cheaper than what AMD is offering, so it's almost like their roles have switched.

Maybe Nvidia are getting higher yields of GA104 chips, compared to the GA102.

Nope - it's just AMD aren't announcing or releasing the 6700 series until January / February. So Nvidia have a couple of months to sell what they can manufacture.
