I suppose I should give them the benefit of doubt and they ran out of time yesterday, it's my understanding you cant drive more than 8h for a courier job? They only started at 13.00 so that would tie in with the time it said mine was 'delivered'

All it took was an update on the tracking to say we apologise but the driver ran out of time, your parcel will be delivered tomorrow.

69 stops until me, yesterday it was 154 and first drop started at 13.00.

I would say it is more a case of 9.30pm is their finishing time and for the money they get they ain't gonna work past it.

That's down to the retailer not Sony. Sony have made their money after the sale, after that, then they don't care what happens.

They both probably losing money on the consoles, they absolutely will care what happens afterwards as its game sales and online subscriptions where they make their money.

So just had the rest mode / repair issue. Placed the console in to rest mode with AC:V open. Checked back and noticed all leds were off and console had seemingly powered itself off. Required button on front to power back on and then prompted for a repair after complaining or insinuating I had removed / unplugged the AC adapter!

Clearly going to fully shut down games from now on till hopeful fix.

When I was a child we shared things, are you really giving each child their own high end console?

I would support a one per household model during product launches, have a system that adds purchase to a database via delivery/billing address. I am aware there would be ways to get round it but as long as it had a significant impact it would be worth doing.

I have no issue with people ordering more than 1 PS5/XBOX. I do think though that ebay/gumtree could take a stance here and say they will not allow profiting resales. Not sure that will ever happen as the more they sell for the more ebay makes but it would do PR for the company the world of good.

That would be an absolute nighmare to administer. You'd be asking either direct competitors to share sensitive data, or if it was coordinated through Sony every retailer would have to add in a step to check against a central database whether you'd already made a purchase elsewhere, meaning every single retailer changing their system and sharing with Sony protected information that they hold (i.e. billing address). It'd simply be unworkable, a GDPR nightmare and provide minimal benefit.

You'd also create loads of issues / complaints that would need to be handled. E.g. what about 6 students living in a house share, blocks of flats with the same address, people who get things delivered to their workplace, people living in care homes / managed accomodation.

Wow just got news from my work that we are getting a bonus this year for all the hard work we been doing on all the Covid vaccines and because it been a hard year!!!! That's my PS5 guilt free now!!!! :)
No bonus this year (or pay rises) for us but a £500 payment to everyone as a hard work thanks - no surprise really tbh. Last years was a substantial bonus mind you, would have paid for quite a few PS5's, even at ebay prices!

Ordered with John Lewis yesterday at 9am, picked up from local Waitrose at lunchtime. Great service.

Controller feels great, but for anyone worried about it being white don't be, it's like a grey colour in reality which looks a bit yuk if I'm honest. A proper glacier white like the PS4 would have been better.

I’ve avoided rest-mode.
Using a spare NVMe in USB-C enclosure for PS4 stuff. So far so good.

I don’t know if it’s just me but does anybody finding DL speeds capped @ circa 600Mbps?

The lack of optical irritates me as it's removed one of my favourite features of my Astros: the ability to regulate the balance between chat and game sound.

Seems everyone else managed to get a PS5 except me :(

I just got stuck in queues and eventually was unable to buy due to lack of stock

Anyone know if Sony have indicated when their supply chain problems will be fixed? Can't find any news articles about it

Only thing I'm worried about is the controller breaking through vibrating itself to death... Will durability be a thing with it? I've never had a controller break before now and it never came into my head until I was using it for Astro! :)
