Looks like my Currys order (placed via the sneaky trick yesterday just before 7am) is being dispatched, despite me trying to cancel it after I managed to pick one up from Amazon.

From thinking I didn't get one at all to having 2.

Will sell the spare one to a mate for what I paid for it as he didn't manage to get one

Its all a confusing mess with Curry’s at the moment. My order was placed around 6:45 and has been set to dispatched but no dispatched email or tracking details. Various people online have seen their orders that were set to dispatched reverse back to on hold or another status.

How much faith do I have...not much. But hopefully an email will arrive in the next 24 hours showing some kind of dispatched information. Because I had zero faith in what was going on (after Curry’s stated on Twitter they would cancel all pre 9am orders and then didn’t!) I managed to get an order in with Game as well. I didn’t want two but I did want one before Christmas :rolleyes:

I would support a one per household model during product launches, have a system that adds purchase to a database via delivery/billing address. I am aware there would be ways to get round it but as long as it had a significant impact it would be worth doing.

Yeah I don't remember having any issue getting a PS4

They will blame COVID obviously, but clearly their supply chain and manufacturing yield have issues

Due to the complete cockup of all the preorders I ended up with four too many and cancelled them. In hindsight I really regret this as they could've gone to good homes and I'm pretty sure they're all sitting on ebay for stupid money :(

Guess we'll find out, but it's one of the reasons I'm very tempted to go for the extended warranty for £30 via Amazon. Only applies to Amazon-bought products though I believe:

If i remember i walking into game and did not even pre-order the PS4

Sony was only bragging about their manufacturing numbers awhile back , guessing this backfired

Fair point but I’ve got most of those on the PC anyway.

The free games on PS+ are worth the sub on their own ten-fold, PS Now is only useful if there’s something specific on it that you want IMO.

Just got a text from RM, coming Monday. Unbelievable, booked 2 days off for this. Game are never getting a penny from me every again.

Seems it was a lottery whoever you went with. Saw a thread on twitter about loads of peoples Amazon's orders being switched with different items in the box.
 
Thankfully my amazon ps5 is correct and accounted for. funny enough when I said to the DPD guy yay thats the ps5 he was like strange they have all been in different style boxes guess he's been keeping an eye out :D
 
Still maintain retailers should limit purchases to one per household during the initial launch period. Say the first two weeks or something.

It’s absolutely ridiculous, a guy a few doors down from me had a dozen PS5’s delivered yesterday, all going straight on eBay. A complete tosspot as far as I’m concerned.

My confirmed pre-order was delayed due to shortages and even spent several unsuccessful hours yesterday trying to source one.

And all because of the greed of a few scalpers!

Yeah read a few pages back. Lots of people have had this, but without any confirmation email. Mine is set to dispatched, has been since early this morning. Hoping that’s a good sign...
 
Well I got it and it's in one piece. Hopefully it's working fine etc. Driver didn't make me sign, dropped it and rang doorbell
