Stuck between a rock and a hard place on upgrade path

Hi all

Posted a month ago about upgrading from the below, and after reading lots of reviews on the zen 2/3 CPUs I'm a bit stuck.

My goal is to play games like warzone and some AAAs at 1440p.

Ideally I'd like to spend no more than 600/700 so my question is,

do I go with a ryzen 3600 based build with a b450 board, 3200 32gb ram and the best gpu I can then afford (which would be what?)

Or do I wait for the 5600 to come out, but obviously have to spend more on the mobo and ram so will have less for a better GPU.

Am I right in thinking I'm going to see huge upgrade either way from my current system

Intel i5-3570k 3.40GHz
8GB ram
Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H
Radeon RX 480
8GB ram Corsair xms 3 1600
2x 120gb SSDs
coolermaster 500w psu
Antec 900 case

Really not sure what direction to go in. I'm not one for upgrading that often so would rather have a system I know that will be fine for the next 3/4 years.

Help!

Will you be reusing any of your old parts ?

Triple AAA games take a lot of grunt at 1440p.

You should be aiming for a 1660 super at least.

Go for the 3600 with the extra cash on the GPU as you will get higher fps than going with a more expensive CPU and a 5600X.

Should be able to pick up a 3600 + mb + rtx3070 founders card for around £700 assuming you can snag one when they drop.

Your looking at something like below

3600 £180
32gb ram £110 or 16gb £70
Motherboard £80 to £100
Gtx 1660 super £220 or gtx 2060 £320
1tb m2 ssd £ 90.

You would, the RX 480 is not suitable for 1440 in the latest games.

What refresh / FPS are you aiming for? If it's 60 then it wouldn't put me off a 3600, but if it is 144 then I'd wait for the 5600X, especially as you want to keep it for 3-4 years.

I'm rocking a RTX 3080 with a 3600 @1440p 144hz and it's just fine.

Ideally 144hz but to be honest I don't think I've ever played any games 144hz so don't know what I'm missing.

Joxeon what games do you play and roughly what fps do you get?

I get around 150fps in warzone with settings maxed, 240 in apex legends, 140 in sottr 85 with RT etc.

Definetly worth going for a 144/165hz monitor especially if your into fps shooters.

Thanks

I forgot to mention I'd like to be able to do some VR stuff too. I have just got an oculus rift 2 so would like to run some titles on it from whatever pc I upgrade to. Would a 2060ti be sufficient?
