*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

No OcUK honours back orders, even if we lose money on them, some of the 3080 MSRP cards are at break even or a slight loss but we honour all orders and always have done.
Yes BREXIT could impose some seriously issues and cause bigger losses on said backorders and its fair to say prices next year are indeed going to go up across the board on imports by the looks of things judging by rumours going around etc. But I do not worry about the future to much and just focus on the here and now, but for sure next year will see some changes.
Hi Gibbo, I appreciate you interjecting and answering the question. Good luck with everything and thank you for the good business practice.

Two competitors have had that card in stock in the last 2 days.
It's pathetic, I don't understand how OCUK haven't had any of these in for ages, and how they continue to be unable to get any in despite competitors having them. I won't be one to get one but they should definitely offer the Suprim version to all people who have an MSI card pre-ordered.

So this is where the Ventus cards are.

EDIT: Just seen this explanation.

I got those cards weeks ago, I collected a few weeks of my SI allocation and then all of those cards were sent to a third party last month, they are building the systems for us right now (we don't have the capacity currently) and we expect to get them back next week...we then give them a quick check and put them in stock.

I've explained the whole 'SI allocation' thing a number of times in the last few days. Whilst SI demands might be one of the reasons for a shortage on Ventus, since Ventus originally launched a few years back as an 'SI only' model and pretty much all of MSI's major global SI customers (we are not one of them) focus on Ventus cards. The fifty units, allocated to me over the first five weeks are not the root cause of the problems. The phrase, a drop in the ocean springs to mind.

As there is planned Nvidia release of 3080ti scheduled for January (sigh), and there was such a big issue with Asus Strix 3080 OC, will you consider possible upgrade to the same card but Ti version. Not trying to be funny but since September Asus have sent to you like what, 50 cards? By the time I will receive mine it will be outdated by another "mirage" product that is not possible to buy, it would be nice to offer such an option to all back orders, some ppl would do it, some would not, but it would go a long way to improve the customer standing, after so many of us cannot enjoy their purchased products.

Would you consider this?

Hey @ScottiB @Gibbo Thank you for the recent updates :)

I did see someone post about there Gigabyte Aorus 3080 Extreme been despatched / ready for dispatch yesterday but cant find the post now. I was in position 22 last Friday so i guess i have moved a little closer to the front now :)

Any news from Gigabyte on the Aorus 3080 Extreme ? Could i be looking at this year or in the new year ? I appreciate you may not know :)

Thanks

ScottiB posted yesterday they received 10+ master & xtreme 3080 yesterday and expecting a delivery next week, in which if they get the full delivery, will include 20+ master and extreme...fingers crossed they do as I'm 84th in queue for 3080 master :(

Any Schedule for 3070 Ventus shipments?

A warning about phishing scam Emails from DPD. Having just received my GPU by DPD it came as something of a surprise to be told that DPD had tried to deliver a parcel today but I wasn't in and there wasn't a safe place to leave it. It was a very convincing Email professionally done just asking me to click a button to arrange a redelivery. The header looked good too, until I looked closer and saw the mispelled 'rechendule'.

If you are excited about receiving a GPU and lets face it there's been so little info here they were due to be despatched it would be very tempting to click on this button believing you were going to be getting your hands on a new RTX, but pause a few and check.

I believe though Asus did not confirm that they have a component shortage specific to Strix which could explain why that SKU is so rare. Asus did tell they do expect a good volume ramp up on Strix towards end of December which would no doubt mean shipping wise sometime around mid/end January. Again my gut feeling, not actual confirmation from Asus.

Asus said they were ramping production up and that we should expect more cards by the end of november too. I'm just taking what they say as pure ******** at this point because they've done nothing to address the concerns which seem to be getting more and more likely as the days and shipments go by.

From my perspective it looks like they're pooling all resources into making TUFs first, Strix later instead of distributing GPUs between the two brands accordingly and building as many as they can at a time.
If they were doing things the latter way instead we would be seeing shipments of ALL their cards slowly coming in as opposed to the 100 TUF OC cards that are coming in now.

And it's frustrating to not know what they're doing and how they are proceeding because they won't tell us what they're doing or how they are proceeding with things which leaves idiots like myself to speculate on their behalf about practices that might not be happening in the first place but they're too proud to tell us what they're missing/how they're doing with each card.

I'm happy that they've finally managed to get a shipment of cards >20pc to OCUK but it just raises more questions for their 3 other iterations of cards that receive the same "Small/OK amount" or No shipment knowledge at all.

I'll be getting my 3080 in 2021 I guess :/

Thanks Hill, yep fingers crossed :)

I got a bunch of these emails last week when I was waiting for a power supply to be delivered. Almost fell for it the first time too. Be careful folks!

I logged into my online banking today and got a warning about this, apparently if you click the DPD link and give details, you get a follow up call by someone pretending to be from your banks fraud team. Then they try and get you to move your funds etc... This is obviously a very active scam at the moment, thanks for the heads up.

I cannot talk about products that do not exist I am afraid.

I just tried to order one of the pre-built systems, seems to be a problem though? Are you taking web orders on them? Can't get through on the phone even after an hour on hold.

After all the Banks inform people they do not ring out of the blue and especially will not ask you to move funds around, they seem to specifically target the elderly as well.

So, no MSI 3080 Ventus cards coming in but order now and they are available for builds.

Shipping 16th with a 3080...

That's adding insult to injury.
Hopefully the last time I'll need to say this. There's a certain proportion of stock from Nvidia intended for SI business. I collected all of my SI allocation for the first few weeks and then sent that stock to a third party to be built for us. The reason for the 16th date is that they've not finished building them all so they haven't been returned yet. I've had no stock from MSI for a few weeks either.

Now... you will be told that SI 'system integration' stock is completely and utterly different from 'boxed' stock. All I can tell you is the system I had built by OC last year with a zotac 2070 in it came with the zotac box which looked no different from the zotac amp 3080 box I have. I'm not suggesting anything dodgy is going on, just making an observation. We also know ScottiB gave some of his SI allocation to Gibbo for retail to help with the shortfall
I've never claimed that the stock that we receive for SI allocation is any different physically from retail stock (in fact I clearly stated the opposite earlier in this thread), for some products, some CPU, HDD and coolers for example, it can be but it's not guaranteed and generally GPU manufacturers don't bother, especially in the current tight stock situation.

The phones are clogged up pretty much all day, we've got so many people calling up to chase ETAs of the Ryzen 5000, four GeForce GPUs, three AMD GPUs that have launched in such a short period of time that we're receiving about five times more calls than we can answer.

Web orders should be fine though, please let me know if you have issues on that side.

I honestly can't see the higher end cards being sold in sufficient quantities even under normal conditions for most of the manufacturers to bother with making "oem" packaging. For lower end cards where tens or hundreds of thousands are being put into "gaming computers" to be assembled and sold in department stores, yes OEM packaing would make sense, but for cards were only a tiny fraction are going to specialist system builders...
I suspect OCUK is simply unusual in that they (from memory) supply most/all of the original packaging with some of their systems, most people buying a complete system wouldn't be bothered (or want) the likes of the GFX card, CPU or cooler boxes.
100% this

I cannot get my head over the excuse “we didn’t realise the 30 series orders we’re going to be so out of control”

In a month you’ve had 20 gigabyte eagles come in stock, 10 gone missing?!

What were you even expecting? 220 in the queue and going to see mine by next Christmas.
Absolute jokes.

Boyz and Girlz. Christmas is here! ;):p:)
