*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

wow, I just checked Gibbo's updates and couln't believe it, had to read it twice :D I hope this is just the beginning and now it will ramp up. Fingers crossed

If there are, for instance, 1500 people in the Queue for the Asus Rog Strix that equates to over 1.3 MILLION POUNDS in the Bank of Overclockers, 1.3 MILLION on JUST ONE CARD

Believe it or not less than a third of that is clear profit and going by whats been said a heck of let less than a third of that is clear profit. Sounds like some of these cards may even be sold at a loss.

Any idea how many Suprims you guys will have when you launch? if you do offer it through the gaming x trio Q would i expect to get one if im at 300 (assuming nobody cancels and those 50 go out this week)?
Also what would the price difference that i would have to pay be?

Thanks

3 months after launch & OC hasn't had a Gigabyte shipment in weeks. What is going on!?

This is ridiculous.

OCUK sent out a decent batch of Gigabyte cards last week. One of the biggest in over a month.

The queue is moving. At least for me

How do I know if I’m entitled to a watchdogs code? I ordered my Zotac 3080 OC on 12/11 and my replacement (1st was doa) arrives tomorrow but I’ve not seen anything mentioning a code etc. Any info would be welcomed :)
Scott mentioned that if you receive a card to get in touch (via Webnote), as nvidia finally got back to them. Worth a shot.

I can help on this one. They will have far less than 300 cards. The price will be about £979. You might get one, as there isn't overloaded interest in these cards for many trio queuers (high premium, huge power draw, huge size, tiny little extra performance.)

I think Gibbo said that 50 had arrived, maybe they had a few more from before, I don't know. I expect that most in the gaming x queue will want a Suprim (including me), the only thing I could see putting some people off is if the price is around £900 (like a uk competitor sold them for earlier today) - or higher. If they only paid £750 for the trio then that would be quite a jump.

Edit - that competitor is normally a little more expensive than OCUK, so I can't see them being any higher than £900 tbh, especially with the 3080Ti rumours heating up.

The 3090 is just 10%-15% faster than the 3080 so how are they going to position the 3080ti? Slightly faster than the 3080 with more memory? or will they jump over the 3090 claiming is was never sold as a gaming card despite the silly 8k gaming sales pitch. Won't matter they'll be no stock and by the time OC have put their own tax on it it's going to be 3090 prices.

Yeah the 3080ti is a weird one, but it seems it's coming sooner rather than later. I suppose it has a market for all those who think 10gb of vram isn't gonna cut it for 4k.

Personally, I think nvidia are taking the pee, by releasing a new top card while so many have been waiting nearly 3 months for the 3080. I have no doubt some wingnuts will be selling their 3080's to bag one.

That’s what I think too. They’re gonna jump the gaming performance of the 3090 and change tack on the 3090 advertising. It will now be a ‘productivity’ card rather than a gaming one.

So ehhhhh do eagles actually exist or what?
I'm pretty sure every one of my queue drops has been due to a cancellation?
I'm not even mad at this point, I'm past caring but I'm genuinely concerned about this particular card.
Why are any not coming in?

i've got a theory that nvidia got wind of the 6800xt's raster performance and bumped the 3080 a bit higher than they would've done otherwise, which has screwed up how they planned to stagger their line. the chip shortage, the fact the chips that are produced are binned to a very similar capability (meaning AIB cards have very little variance in them), the price to performance increase being much better than last generation, the narrow space between the 3080 and 3090 performance all points to this.

as a result, there's not much of an avenue for a 3080ti, which i reckon was originally planned to be very close to the current 3080 spec.

all conjecture of course, but it does add up.

Nah I reckon it's gonna be in the middle. The rumoured specs so far point to it being a lower memory 3090 which would fit pretty well at $1000

That is an interesting suggestion. I wonder if we'll find out later down the line

Me and my Brother got Eagles from a competitor but even though we ordered day 1 hour 1 it took 4-5 weeks. This was I think due to the recall of the power cables, when I got it it the date was after the "fixed" week of 42 I think.

a moment of silence for all of us tonight who cant play cyberpunk at acceptable framerates or even at all and have been waiting nearly 3 months for cards we ordered to watch everyone tonight online streaming with shiny new cards haha, god i cant wait till covid ***** right off...XD

I've ordered a asus 3080 TUF (non oc), which seems non existed. I don't think I've actually seen any on gibbos stock post. Are we aloud to swap our cards? And do we lose our place in the queue if we do?

You only have a place in the TUF non-OC queue so if you want a different card you would go to the back of that queue.

No other way to handle that fairly unfortunately.

Also you'd need OCUK help to change cards as with all pre-orders closed down you can't just cancel and reorder something else...
