cpu 100% usage . youtube?

As the title says . No matter what browser i use my laptop runs at 100% when playing youtube video(taskmanager always says browser is using 65-85% resources) . It was fine last time i used it but that was a couple of months ago. Its a cheap lanovo ideapad 300 . Quad core with intel graphics and 8gb memory.. Any ideas what is going on before i toss it out for the junk it is ???

are you able to see if any windows updates have been installed recently. Another option roll back to earlier version of Windows 1909
