bit of a late response but it was 146 i think, cant remember. What was your position in the queue last week?
Also, everyone I have been dealing with has taken money with the pre-order.They won't be earning anything like 1% on a cash account! Also, they are only holding it for a few weeks, not a whole year. They absolutely aren't making anything like £150k from sitting on pre-order cash.
Goodmorning guys. I have a question. I was going to buy a 5900x but as I am stressing out because of everything being out of stock for so long, I am grabbing all the things that come in stock so I am closer to my goal. Two days ago, I managed to get a 5950x. I am building my pc to edit videos (mostly at 4K), edit pictures as I’m a content creator. Also I will be streaming and gaming at the same time. I was told 5900x is more than enough which I think so too. Have I done the wrong thing to spend 250 extra on this pointless 5950x?
If you are video editing the 5950x is not a pointless purchase.

Looks like some other retailer have just put the 5600x on sale (in stock) for £33 more RRP (£289). Shame as would have purchased at 299. I guess the current issue with air shipping is pushing the costs up. Hopefully with more stock incoming the prices will reduce back down to RRP.
Agreed, £300 really should be the upper limit for the 5600X, but given the price hikes across all AMD CPUs I don't think will see them on the shelves under £300 until the 2nd half of January. Assuming Brexit doesn't brake anything more than its already broken.
/facedeskIf another retailer get the 1246 5600X next week and another 1750 the following week as they are expecting, that should go a long way to meeting demand.Unfortunately I don't think prices will stabilize until supply meets demand. Even then, RRP means recommended and the vendor who thinks he can sell at a higher price will generally do so.
Only if you want a 5600XIf another retailer get the 1246 5600X next week and another 1750 the following week as they are expecting, that should go a long way to meeting demand.

Do you think a 5900X is over kill, if your just using it for gaming?Only if you want a 5600X![]()
