Hi guys,

On the lookout for a new monitor as I've just plugged in my previous asus monitor after moving house and it has some big black patch on the bottom left.

Would prefer a 2k monitor with 144hz gsync if its possible, On a pretty strict budget of upto £350

Any suggestions?

Forget GSync, or it should really be called as ButtSync.
It's paying to Nvidia for them to lock ball and chain into your ankle for marriage to paying their brand prices.
FreeSync monitor's variable refresh rate again works with any GPU, including coming Intels.

For fastest response times that LG would be very good.
Though contrast of that LG's (first gen?) Nano-IPS panel is just mediocre even for IPS.
Current price is £440.

For some cheaper ones there are thse.

This BenQ has review with pretty good contrast measured.

Though if you prefer darkened room, then VA's superior contrast beats others.
Pretty much all of them just have really sluggish darker shade transitions compared to IPS.

Oh brill good suggestions did not realise nvidia cards worked with freesync! The LG as posted above does look nice a little over what i wanted to spend will take a look at the others when home.

Gigabyte monitor better priced also looks nice

In general, FreeSync monitors work with nvidia cards, but do check reviews just in case. GSync (either with the extra chip or certified compatible by nVidia) will guarantee a seamless experience, with your nvidia card, on variating frequencies

VA panel and hence strong contrast/black giving best of LCDs looking image in dimmer/darkened room.

But also with typical VA's response time "challenges"...
And very suboptimally working RTC with either no overshoot but all around slow response times, or with both RTC overshoot and still slow dark shade transitions.

Yeah... LCD tech just sucks donkey balls and is better than CRT only in slim size/weight...

Got this one myself a few weeks ago and really like it. Meant to be Gsync compatible but I've not been able to test that with my current GPU (980ti). New GPU coming soon so will hopefully be able to confirm then. I got mine from a large online retailer for £329 which was considerably cheaper than OC at the time but I've noticed OC have since brought their prices down to nearer that mark. All in all, good monitor for the price and should tick all the boxes for what you were after.
