Congrats. Did you get a Zotac by any chance? I got an email earlier saying they were in stock somewhere.

Gigabyte Rtx 3080. I'd be happy with any tbh but my last 3 purchases have been Gigabyte. 1070,1080ti and a 1660 super. Mainly because they were in stock at the time.
From a 1080ti in my main rig a RTX 3080 was the next logical upgrade. The 2000 RTX series wasn't really much of an improvement over the 1080ti just more expensive. Had the 1080ti 28 months now and so many attempts to buy a 3080 since day one release. My 3440x1440p ultrawide is gagging now for a upgrade.
Also I require cuda and nvec encoder. If AMD had a good x264/x265 encoder I'd give them a try. Shame.... even though Ray tracing is in its infancy, Nvidia has got AMD beat this gen on RTX

Randomly you'll see an 'add to basket' appear next to one and then you've got literally seconds to check out with it. You've got to not be picky about which card
you get and be prepared to pay a bit extra. And by that I mean all the cards I saw appearing last week were the higher end ones and were going for between £900
and £999. The Gigabyte Aorus Master I got was £930. My prediction is even the lower end cards are going to be going for that sort of money next year.

well i got scalped buying a zotac holo black for £965 from the biggest retailer in the world, they advertised a amp extreme and sent me a holo black, i did send them an email and now its taken off or they sold out, the holo black is 769 and they charged an extra 200 pound premium, and this is the biggest shop in the world

So i dont blame some of the scalpers on the bay, buy low sell high, its business.

Also looking to buy a PSU and they are out of stock everywhere like GPUs, whats happening to component planet earth

I'm upgrading from a 1080 so I should see a BIG improvement. I need to upgrade my i7 6700 processor too but I'll do that next year. I've got a HP Reverb G2 VR headset on my christmas list too.
 
I aquired a Superflower 850 gold shortly after 3080 release (was using a 6 year old 750 corsair CX . You can't get a good psu now without paying way over the odds. I did have a hard limit on a 3080 and wasn't going over it no matter what.
Already have a 3900x, 64 gig 3600 ram and oodles of fast nvme drive space. 1080ti is the limiting factor on latest titles here I feel. It can cope but setting Dirt 5 to ultra @ 3440x1440 and the 1080ti struggled badly to get to a steady 60 fps.

Managed to grab one of the 1200W Platinum PSUs from Phanteks (Seasonic built) just the other day before they all sold out again, for my 3080, just wanted something that would last and I didn't need to worry about?

thats crazy stuff, my PSU playing up, got a 1300 watt Evga G2, from the sli days, used it for my 9080ti sli 1070sli 1080sli 2070 sli and 2080ti and now that ive connected 1 3080 i get BSOD on cyberpunk only, like wtf
 
I need to get a 850W PSU for my 3080. I've seen a few about but they seem to be around 130 quid or so for a modular one. £60 or £70 for a non modular. I know modular is the way to go though.

I've a friend running a Zotac 3080 on a 5 year old 750w evga bronze unit. Seems fine. That's with a 9900k @5.1 ghz, 32 gig ram and all the usual stuff in a good gaming rig. He got his off ebay and refused to say how much he paid (End of November).

The amp extreme doesn't even exist. They cancelled it until supply stabilises.
 
For my TUF OC peeps, I'm number 8, and haven't heard anything yet. I expect a dispatch email by around Thursday at the earliest, going by Gibbo's timeframe.

Hopefully Scott or Gibbo have an update on whether last week's 20 and this week's 100 have arrived and are being processed into stock by tomorrow.

as far as I can tell. They shipped about 18-20.
