Supermarkets and recalls

I know that some will say that I don't want supermarkets logging my spending habits or selling on my info, etc

They already do. This is literally the entire point of the Clubcard/Nectar/etc 'loyalty' systems.

A lot of recalls are just because of possible contamination by nuts or something like that people can have allergies too.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're already doing that if you pay with any sort of debit or credit card. They won't necessarily know who you are, but they will know what you buy and frequency (if you don't randomise the card that you use every single time).
