Running games off Second drive in new build?

So im wondering if i am able to run my games off my second/Current drive in my new build just temporarily until i can install them all on my new drive?

will i need to install the programs to the new drive like Steam/GOG etc or will they run with the new MB/CPU?

You can run the games from the second hard disk, install steam then go in to settings=>downloads=>steam library folders add folder with the games. not familiar with GOG, Origin has something similar right click on games in your library=> locate game.

Think most launchers support this these days

Ok thanks just wondering if it would cause any problems will eventually just install them all to my new drive.

Everything except epic is easy to move. For uplay and origin, just install the apps and point them to the existing installs. Epic involves deals with the devil...

For that reason, I haven't even bothered installing it again. Doubt I will either to be honest.

Same, point to another drive and it will install or detect the games currently in that folder.

I have a dedicated games ssd now to save the downloading ballache if I need to reinstall. plenty of guides on the nerdvine
