3060Ti or 3070?

I've been waiting for 30x0 cards to be available before upgrading my PC and now may (delivery pending) have accidentally ordered two cards in my haste to get one, as what I thought was a pre-order looks like being a tangible card.

Current setup is a i7 3770 and GTX 970 and I only game at 1920x1200. New rig not yet bought, but probably an i7 10700K.

Given the choice, which card of these two would you keep?

MSI RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio - cost £525
Gigabyte RTX 3070 Eagle OC - cost £595

Agreed! But you should really be looking for a 3060Ti ~£400 not over £500!

That's an absurd price for a 3060ti. The 3070 is also closer to 3080 MSRP but you gotta take what you can get nowadays, I'd keep the 3070.

Personally I chose a 3060ti @ £430 over an open box ex display 3070 @ £570. Both good cards for 1440p and will chew through your resolution. Although you may (will) need a CPU upgrade to get the most out of them.

For that resolution the 3060 Ti works but I would only pay for around £400 odd instead of those prices. If you can afford it, then the 3070.

I got a 3070 and it's a monster, so that is what I would recommend you get.

Both are way overpriced IMO, but if you're going to pay north of £500 anyway then you might as well get the 3070.

Seems unanimous for the 3070, so will hang onto that, thanks all. Assuming both arrive tomorrow looks like I'll be reselling the 3060

Just bought a 3070 and realised its about 5mm too long so going to have to get creative when it arrives.
