*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

OMG this is starting to drive me crazy. I've been watching a certain site all week, because I knew they had suprims. I had email notifications set up, had the telegrams and discords open while I work, and probably spent 80hrs this week with that site open on my side screen. I had to go out this morning for a bit, and I came back to 6 email notifications and 21 drop notices, and the suprims are gone, not only on that site I was so intently watching, but they dropped in 2 other places in the 2 hrs I was away for around msrp. It's just like the white whale from the Witcher 3!

Dont feel too bad I was doing the same thing and was even at my desk this morning, clicked the link within seconds of getting the email and every card was already gone. Giving up on a 3080 till next year sometime

Yeah time to give up I think. I've wasted too many hours on this and have nothing to show for it. I'll just have to patiently wait for my ocuk order to turn up some time next year.

Yeah crappy Christmas for everyone because of Nvidia, ASUS and others not telling the truth. One of the AIB's should have just told it like it is and probably won a lot of respect. Getting that card was the only good thing that made me look forward to Christmas now I think it's probably going to cause bad depression. When i get the card i think it's going to be a very bitter moment and wouldn't be surprised if I send it back out of spite to buy an AMD card. It's crap anyway nowhere near as good as what they said it was gonna be. Just because it's better than the 2080ti doesn't make it good in the slightest. By the time we all get them you will be able to buy it online with no trouble anyway so this has been a very pointless exercise.....

The whole situation sucks no argument there. But I wouldn't go as far as to say the 3080 is crap, it doesn't perform as well as first boasted in 99% of applications but who was expecting any different? Nvidia always inflate their products like this e.g they give an example of a game where the performance gains are at their maximum and they use that to promote... I agree it's annoying marketing but it's nothing new.
"Just because it's better than the 2080ti doesn't make it good in the slightest." Firstly, yes it does. Secondly it out performs the 2080ti substantially and costs half as much or it did at launch... That's pretty good hence the insane totals for que numbers, "it's over 9000!".
I wish there was a good reason to jump to AMD after this terrible launch but without a good DLSS equivalent I can't justify it.

One of the problems with nvidia is that gamers are no longer their core market. In a similar way to Adobe, their traditional userbase just isn't where the real money is anymore, so they become more and more anti-consumer, because they can.

And then you get all these consumers who are outraged over some tech tuber not getting his free FE cards. And other tech tubers become outraged too, saying crap like, "nvidia have went too far this time" or "nvida are evil", "nvidia have crossed the line" and all the kiddies join them in their outrage. But no mention from any of them about the thousands of consumers who actually paid good money for a gpu in September yet still see no sign of them... no that wasn't crossing the line then, it's only when some dumb tech tuber doesn't get his free **** that they actually crossed the line. The whole circle jerk makes me sick.

Sorry that was a bit of a Rant....but wtf!!

well even as you guys speak there are 3080's available and 3090's and 3070's and 3060ti and 6800 AMD. It's not really rocket science to have some retailer sites open.

Just keep retailers windows open, today they are dropping many times over, it's best day I have ever seen so far.

I have 5 sites signed in, paypal signed in, the 2 main telegrams and 2 discord channels open with alerts on - not seeing anything since this morning when I was out.

still in a checkout waiting room for for a Vision too.

agreed, taking in mass preorders and not being able to fulfil the orders equals mass disappointment, i learnt that after preordering 2 cards with OCUK and the weekly emails coming in showing me im 700 to 680 was to painful, hence tha cancelation after 10 weeks

I now believe the best way to deal with situations like this is to get the stock 1st and then list on the website, let it sell and rinse and repeat.

Yes the whole preorder mess needs to stop and only sell what you have in stock, that way you don't trap peoples money that can't afford to buy elsewhere when their money is trapped in a preorder. If not in stock don't sell that simple, it's really making people more upset this system.

Of course other tech tubers were outraged, Nvidia's actions threatened the independent review process which is their livelihood. Most of the bigger tech tubers would get on fine without Nvidia but that's besides the point, it sets a standard that other brands may follow. The outrage seems to have worked and Nvidia back tracked on it.
I've seen several tech tubers bang on about Nvidia's supply issues and how crappy a launch it's been...
I'm not particularly "outraged" about any of it, the supply issue is annoying and what Nvidia did with Hardware unboxed was concerning... That's about it. lol no circle jerking here.

By far the bigger more important story is the consumers not getting their paid for cards. The tubers won't push that too far though will they? Why? because it isn't in the script that's why. And as for independent reviews, outside of GN who try quite hard, I don't think so...if you want to see the function of tech tubers then look at all the virtually identical pc builds on reddit and the likes, all using the hot parts as recommended by the tech tuber circle jerk. It's marketing, there is nothing independent about the whole process. Nvidia, AMD, the AIB's and the main tech tubers are all part of the same **** show.

Preach - it’s the truth

a thing I'd never think I'd hear myself say but yeah bring it on, at least you wont have to wait in a queue to get a GPU and when servers updated so will your virtual GPU and "0" latency WILL one day be a thing and i look forward to it.
I love those two ignore the laws of physics and believe the hype. The adverts make me rage "no latency!" BULLS***...I've streamed games from one PC to another on a LAN and there's noticeable latency!

You're right, the "mainstream" will probably gravitate towards cloud gaming subscription services but that "mainstream" aren't the same customer base who'd spend £500+ on a graphics card or populate a forum full of techheads, it's more likely to be those customers who just spent £500 on a console or gaming PC from Ebay.
